Le Ralph Lauren Management,
I’d like to share my experience visiting your restaurant today with my family — we are five. We arrived without a reservation, and upon stepping inside, we were met by a host named Fiona, or something close. When we inquired about dining in, she quickly told us the restaurant was fully booked and gave us the impression that she was eager to dismiss us. It felt quite unwelcoming, to say the least.
Surprised by this, we stepped outside and checked Google Maps; to our surprise, we found multiple time slots available for lunch that same afternoon. So we made a reservation for a time just 30 minutes later and returned.
Upon our return, we met the same receptionist, and she seemed shocked to see us again. When we mentioned our reservation, she appeared visibly upset. She led us to a table in a rather unfriendly manner. We requested a more suitable table for our family of five, and she asked us to wait 10-15 minutes, which we agreed to do. Eventually, we were seated as requested.
During the meal, service from another waiter was better, but even then, we felt a bit pressured to order more dishes than we initially wanted. Guests should be given space and time to decide, not pushed.
That said, I want to be fair: the food was absolutely excellent. The quality and preparation were outstanding, and we genuinely enjoyed the dishes.
However, I must express my disappointment with the customer-facing staff, especially at the reception. Hospitality begins the moment guests walk through the door — and unfortunately, that part of the experience was not up to standard. The attitude and approach of the front-of-house staff did not reflect the reputation or image that a restaurant like Le Ralph Lauren should uphold.
After reading other reviews, I’ve noticed similar concerns raised by previous guests, which indicates this may be more than a one-time incident.
To conclude: • Food quality: Excellent • Service: Poor and needs urgent improvement • Atmosphere: Average • Recommendation: I would not advise visiting unless management addresses the customer service issues, particularly at the reception.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as I believe there is potential for the restaurant to truly reflect the elegance it promises, but only if the frontline team is trained to deliver proper...
Read moreDuring the holy month of Ramadan, my friend and I decided to break our fast at Ralph Lauren Restaurant in Milan. It is customary for Muslims to begin Iftar with water and a date before proceeding with dinner. My friend arrived earlier and broke her fast with just water, as she had forgotten to bring a date.
When I arrived, I had one date wrapped in a napkin with me. As I was about to break my fast, a waiter abruptly approached me and scolded me for bringing my own food. He didn’t even allow me to explain before rolling his eyes and walking away. The interaction left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome.
After that, another waiter—who was much more polite—took over our table, but the service still lacked attentiveness. The table was quite small, and empty plates, bottles, and unnecessary glasses were not cleared away promptly. Later during the meal, the same unpleasant waiter bumped into me without acknowledging it.
When it was time to pay, I decided to share my concerns with the cashier. However, the same waiter rushed over, interrupted me again, and insisted that I should have eaten my date outside. He made dismissive hand gestures and walked away, while the cashier quietly apologized. Before we left, she approached us again, offering another apology, claiming that it was a “safety issue”—a justification I found unacceptable. If this were truly about safety or allergies, the waiter should have inquired about food intolerances while taking our order, as is standard practice.
To me, this experience reflected not only a lack of respect and education but also clear discrimination. Even if they were enforcing a rule, their handling of the situation was unprofessional and completely lacked empathy. A simple, respectful explanation would have been enough. Instead, we left feeling unheard and unwelcome.
Needless to say, we won’t...
Read moreI had high expectations for my birthday weekend celebration at The Bar at Ralph Lauren in Milan, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment. While the ambiance and decor were exactly what you'd expect from a Ralph Lauren establishment—elegant, stylish, and chic—the service left much to be desired.
From the start, the staff were unreasonably rude and surprisingly patronizing. They didn’t seem to take our requests seriously, and their dismissive attitude was evident throughout our meal. One of the most frustrating moments was when it took them five attempts to finally bring us a salt shaker that actually dispensed salt. While this might seem trivial, it was indicative of the lack of attention to detail and the overall poor service we received.
Despite the service, the food itself was decent. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and certainly satisfying, but the experience as a whole was marred by the inattentiveness and unfriendly nature of the staff. We were left waiting far too long for simple things, and it became clear that customer service was not a priority for them.
Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the terrible service and unfriendly atmosphere made it hard to appreciate the meal fully. Unfortunately, I can't recommend The Bar at Ralph Lauren, and I certainly won’t be returning. The lack of warmth and professionalism from the staff made it impossible to have the special birthday experience I...
