NO. Absolutely no. This is not how you are supposed to treat your customers. (Tell your waiter Laura(?) it’s not nice to roll your eyes at people if your customers can see it). The only one guy who seemed to be really working was the guy who is holding the phone on one of the pics. Ah, where do I even begin?! It took ages to place an order, we had to call someone a few times. Instead, they were approaching new arrived customers and cleaning tables after the ones who left….. we also spotted two girls sitting at the and trying to get a waiters attention just as we were…. They only came to take the order when I asked for a manager. One of the guys who stood outside was the person I asked for a manager. He said manager wasn’t there yet and asked what happened so kind of had to take our order. He clearly wasn’t happy he had to do it so when my friend asked if they’ve got waffles (knowing it’s not on the menu) he went sassy with “we only have what’s on menu, if it’s not there, then we don’t have it”. It was in a rude manner. I appreciate he maybe was tired and my friend maybe also shouldn’t have asked about something that is not on the menu. But he didn’t have to be that rude. While we were waiting for the order we had a rubbish on the edge of the table. Our rubbish, like paper sort of. We were hoping one of the waiters will take it. No one did until we asked for it. Even though they came to us a few times as we had questions. Ideally we didn’t even have to ask to take it and waiter would take it as their eyes are always around checking on people (I used to work in hospitality and may be I will be again, you never know. That’s why I know what I’m talking about). So they came to us twice, answered our question (i believe it was about WiFi) and left lol. So we had to call them again to ask to take these papers from our table (this is not supposed to happen at all). It’s just sad. We felt like we visited your staff at their place and not a cafe that’s why they were so mean and slow like saying “LEAVE ALREADY”. Food was the only thing that was good…
We didn’t tip them at all because this is just unacceptable but you can see it still was on the bill for...
Read moreGinger strikes again! After having had my first bad experience at their Pantheon branch (awful enough to warrant a 1-star review) about 4 years ago, I returned to Ginger post Covid partly in the hope that they had improved their service quality, and partly due to the lack of truly healthy no-frills food options in central Rome. After two consecutive good (or rather normal) experiences, I had regained confidence in this place, thinking they may have gotten their act together. I couldn’t have been more mistaken.
The day before Christmas, with little time at hand between present buying and present wrapping, we had the brilliant idea of ordering delivery from Ginger to be able to eat at home. In expectation of a Christmas feast the next day, we ordered the lightest dishes on the menu - two of their steamed vegetable and chicken boxes (no seasoning) and two juices. The food arrived, more than an hour later, in a mutilated paper bag with our drinks spilled and part of our food soaked in the juice spillover. Seeing that some of it could be saved, we decided to eat it anyway - big mistake. Both myself and my wife were bed-bound with food poisoning within hours of eating. For steamed vegetables and steamed chicken to give you food poisoning, something really untoward and, quite frankly, unhygienic must be going on in their kitchen. Of course, after being contacted through the delivery service about the issue, Ginger didn’t even have the courtesy to refund us for the spoiled food.

Read moreGinger is a cool and trendy restaurant that offers a delightful culinary experience, showcasing delicious Italian pasta and a variety of cold cuts. While I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Ginger, I did have one minor critique regarding the saltiness of their cacio e pepe dish.
The menu at Ginger focuses on Italian cuisine, particularly their mouthwatering pasta dishes and enticing cold cuts selection. The pasta dishes I tried were a true highlight, bursting with authentic flavors and expertly prepared. The combination of quality ingredients and skilled culinary techniques was evident in each bite, leaving a lasting impression. The cold cuts, too, were top-notch, offering a tantalizing array of flavors and textures.
However, one dish that fell slightly short of expectations was the cacio e pepe. While the flavors were well-balanced, I found the dish to be overly salty for my taste. As a classic Roman pasta dish, cacio e pepe traditionally features a simple yet rich combination of Pecorino Romano cheese, black pepper, and pasta. In this case, the saltiness of the cheese was overpowering, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish. It would be beneficial for Ginger to take note of this feedback and consider adjusting the seasoning to ensure a more balanced and palatable...
