This is probably THE BEST coffee I’ve ever tasted. The owner was nice enough to give me a recommendation and it turned out to be great. We got the Ethiopian beans and he did 3 hand drip coffees. Seating is limited and due to it being hand drip it took a while but expected.
Watching him make coffee is a work of art. You can tell how meticulous he is. His movement displayed his years of dedication of his craft. At this point I had high hopes.
We ended up finding a spot to sit down and got our coffee. I asked for cream and sugar. He said he has no cream. I immediately took a back a bit and thought “??? What place has no cream. I know it’s a no no in real coffee tasting but people drink coffee however they like.” Then he compromised and offered sugar but suggested trying it without it first.
I took his word and MAN that was THE smoothest coffee I’ve ever tasted. Slightly bitter, not sour, and smooth. No sugar or cream needed. It’s so good I bookmarked it for my next trip.
The guy runs everything on his own and you can tell how passionate he is about coffee. I’ve been searching for someone like this and I only discovered it because of a stroll...
Read moreThis is my favorite cafe in Tokyo. It has a cozy environment, the owner is really nice and enthusiastic about coffee. There are many types of beans that you can choose from, different origin and different roasts.
I had an pour over Ethiopian with dark roasted. It is very rare in Taiwan because I believe it is very difficult to get melon, grape flavor when it’s dark roasted. I roasted bean myself at home and my dark roasted Ethiopian is very plain without much fruity flavor. The pour over was surprisingly nice! I can feel grapes, melon and dark chocolate. It is very smooth and no bitterness at all even it gets cold.
Espresso was made of a house blend, it is absolutely amazing! Very balanced, great body, and the chocolate flavor is very distinct. I had lots of espresso around the world, this is my top favorites. Sadly the owner does not sell the espresso blend, I guess it is...
Read moreOne of my favorite cafes. It has the warm and friendly feeling of a cozy, small-town café. The cafe owner was the one brewing the coffee every time I was there. The owner is considerate and passionate about coffee. Not only does he roast the coffee himself in the shop and brew meticulously, but he even recognized me AND remembered my order from a couple months prior. I was impressed. And it's small and quiet, a perfect place to read. Note that the cafe is small and specialized, so it serves only coffee, no food. There is also a "tea" brewed from coffee cherries, which is hard to find elsewhere. The owner also speaks some English, so you can order in English if...
