UNLUCKY WITH LUCKY If you're dining with children, have animal-related phobias, or are uncomfortable around unpredictable creatures, please read this before visiting.
I visited this café a few weeks ago. While the ambience was lovely and the space visually charming, my experience with Lucky, the free-flying parrot, was far from enjoyable.
During lunch with a friend, Lucky immediately took a liking to him and perched on his shoulder throughout the meal. That part was admittedly charming—for him.
After lunch, we decided to stay a bit longer so I could relax and do some journaling. I soon regretted this decision.
About 45 minutes in, Lucky suddenly began to act aggressively toward me. He swooped down and pecked at my ear before returning to my friend’s shoulder. This happened at least twice, always unprovoked.
While I was doodling, Lucky attacked my hand hard enough to puncture the skin. Later, while the owner was showing us some artwork in the back, Lucky flew across the room and bit my ear, breaking the skin and drawing blood.
What alarmed me most was the weak response from the café staff. Besides saying “Lucky, no!”—there was no proper effort to intervene, restrain the parrot, or check if I was OK. It was clear there was no protocol in place for when Lucky became aggressive.
I quickly asked for the bill (RM72), paid, and left—only after asking my friend to stand in a far corner to keep Lucky distracted so I could exit without another incident.
By the time I reached my car, I was in shock, noticing 2 puncture wounds deep enough they draw blood, along with scratches on my neck.
I don’t blame Lucky. He’s a bird and may have felt territorial or jealous. But the humans responsible for him should, at the very least, have a plan in place when an animal under their care starts injuring guests. The indifference, even after attacks so close to a patron's eyes, was deeply troubling.
Yes, the café is beautiful—but I cannot recommend it based on...

It was in the late afternoon when we paid a visit, so the store was a little quiet. We only wanted a nice hot drink with some dessert, but they only had one choice of cake a day and some tarts. We opted out of the cake as it was peanut butter and my partner didn’t fancy peanut butter cake too much.
We tried the kahwah and chai. Although the tea came in a small cup, it was super flavourful! Wish it was a little bigger as it was really delicious!
We didn’t try any of their dishes as we just had lunch, but perhaps another round next time in...
Read moreWe wanted to try the chai tea after seeing some FB shares, one fine rainy day we finally visited this rustic, middle eastern feel, food shack with 3 tables in it.
We ordered 1 vege briyani and 1 chicken briyani, surprisingly the vege rice had a thick ghee butter taste, and the chicken one is lightly flavoured. Veg side dishes the okra was quite good, so was the raitha and dhall. Basmathi rice was aptly used for the beriyani, giving it the texture and chewabilty.
Chai tea was slightly on the bland side when I drink the top, but the spices flavour increased as I sip in more towards the bottom. Boss said can customize the spices level, just...
