Malacca July 2022 On July 2022, I just visited Melaka for three days. It's such a "small" vintage city with an interesting history. The city also has been recognized as a world Heritage by Unesco since 2008. I can't tell you much detail about its history, but you can learn about it by just visiting all museums here. Okay, let's begin thisjourney.

Date: 22nd to 23rd December 2023. Found this unique capsule hotel after a snappy decision to visit Melaka for a 2 days 1 night trip. Situated just a few hundred metres from the famous Jonker Street. It's very convenient for single travellers who are travelling light and also suitable for couples who wants to try something new instead of the traditional hotel rooms. I was assigned a single occupancy capsule as I was alone. The capsule are well... unique! It's very clean and what you need is all in there. Air conditioning and lightings are adjustable using the touch panels (as shown in the videos). The capsule that I took does not come with a TV. Not sure if there are TVs for other capsules though. Charging your devices are made easy with plug points and USB ports within the capsule itself. And there's also a mini fire extinguisher in case of emergencies. But please do take note that if you are assigned a top bunk capsule, you will need to climb a few very tiny steps to get in the capsule. So if you don't want to a top bunk, better specify it when you place your booking. Bathrooms and wash basins are communal. Only shower gels are provided. So please bring your own towel, shampoo and other toiletries. There's a small cafe within the business premise for those who opt for a quiet time to chill. It's your cafe type of menu, coffees, tea and pastries. The back of the hotel is just right next to the river. So if you want to chill here and just let time past you by, it's a good place to hang out. Getting in and out of the hotel before 10pm doesn't require any keys. But after 10pm, you'll need a passcode to enter, one which the friendly staff will provide to you when you check in. Please do take note that the capsule cannot be locked from the outside, only a latch from the inside. So if you have anything that you want to stash away while you head out, please ask the staff members for a locker (also shown in the video). And please make sure you keep the locker key safe. Losing will cause you a penalty that you'd have to pay to replace the key and lock. Overall a pleasant and unique experience to stay in Vspace Guesthouse and Cafe. One small thing to take note is that the mattress is quite thin, so for a heavy set person like myself, its rather hard to sleep on. And the pillow is also quite thin and soft, so if you like harder pillows, you might want to bring your own. During my visit, I rode a bike so parking is not much of an issue. But for people who plans to drive, there's a parking lot nearby which is chargeable. Paid less then RM55 for a one night stay for the capsule that I stayed in and booked via Agoda which was very easy and convenient. Checking in is also very brief and easy. The staff will actually give you a tour of the establishment before letting you hop into your capsule. Hope this review is helpful for those who wants to give this unique hotel a try. Until the next review, cheers and stay safe peeps! âœŒđŸŒ P/s: This is a non smoking or vaping establishment. So please take note.

This is a review for their capsule hotel. First, I love the location; it's super easy to walk to anywhere from here. Next, the staff are pretty friendly as well. Besides that, you can easily refill your water here for free and the common area on the second floor overlooking the river is pretty dope. Now for the negatives; 1) lack of privacy The capsules are not located at a private space which means total random strangers could walk pass your capsule and peek in if they want (provided if the door is open). 2) Showering as well as skincare for the ladies of course is another akward situation as you'll have to do it using the same WC facilities as the guests of the cafe. Moreover, the only door leading to the riverbank is located right at the bathroom area so there will be a constant stream of people walking past the said facilities. 3) lack of security While you can secure your capsule on the inside when you're in it, there's no way to lock it when you're out. The lockers seem to be unsafe as there's a review that his stuff got stolen and the property owner refused to take responsibility. Seems like there's also a problem with the CCTV? As such, you'll have to carry all your valuables with you such as your laptop and etc when you're out. 4) capsule issues There's no way to turn off the blue lights on the control panel of the capsule so it can be an obstacle if you're sensitive to light when sleeping. If you're fine with that, next up will be the constant creaking/water dripping noises. Your capsule neighbours too will also be quite noisy; ranging from knocking against the wall to slamming of the capsule doors. 5) toilets are a bit dirty. Strangest thing is that the toilet paper is on the outside near the sink and not the inside.

I didn't stay here, so I have no comments about the room.

We had lunch here. We ordered the prawn pasta, chicken chop with black pepper sauce, Taiwanese egg crepe roll and fish & chips. And also some drinks.

My low rating is because of the quality of the food. But I love the owner's service attitude. She patiently and cheerfully explain to us on the capsule hotel that they offered. I think to myself - what a shame - if only their food is as good as their service.

Egg crepe is pretty good. Not the best, but edible. Prawn pasta - pasta and sauce is good, but the prawn is not fresh. The flesh is mushy and the shell stick to the flesh.

The chicken chop with my selected sides - salad and spaghetti Bolognese - the chicken is not well grilled. Should have crispy charred skin. And please serve the sauce on the sides, not directly on the chicken. The sauce is a big disappointment. I could taste it is bottled black pepper sauce. Not sure Maggi brand or what brand, but it is sweet. Please spend some time cooking a real black pepper sauce - it is not that hard and will taste 100 times better. The spaghetti Bolognese taste too sweet also. Not sure if it is ready to eat sauce also.

The fish & chips - fish is definitely a readily battered frozen fish. Please, for the price that you sell - use real fish (even frozen dory is fine) and make your own crispy fish batter. It is a let down.

All the best in your business. I believe with your service attitude, and you improve on your food quality - it will be...
