We were excited to try this brunch spot, but left traumatized. It was busy, so we were waiting for a seat inside. The wait was 40 minutes and it was 90°F+ out, so we went to the neighboring plaza to visit the grocery store and grab coffee while we waited. We went back in to check on our table and possibly just order take out since we had family waiting back home. The waiter was rude when we asked to look at menus, but we brushed it off. A table opened while we were looking at the menu, so we rushed back to the neighboring coffee shop (Land’s End, where the service was spectacular by the way) to get our parents and sit down. Once we sat down, the waiter approached us and said we couldn’t bring any outside food or drinks in. We had ordered coffee and bagged pastries next door so we could wait inside. We had already put away our bagged pastries and asked if we could just not drink our drinks or leave our drinks somewhere and grab them on the way out. They said we had to throw all our pastries and drinks away or finish them outside and come back later. We didn’t want to throw everything away or wait outside in 90+ degree weather so we got up to leave. We walked back to Land’s End to get coffee and more pastries for our family since we weren’t able to order at Fiore. When we got back to the parking lot, the parking attendant told us the lot was was for Fiore and the restaurant next door only, that she saw what we did, and it that was “very wrong” of us and that she should call the police on us. We obviously had every intention to dine at Fiore when we parked in the lot. She had timed how long we had parked for (about 37 min), told us the max was 10 min, and that now we had to pay a fee. We said sure and asked how much it was. She said “you’re not going to like what you hear” and told us it was $50 USD, cash only if we wanted to leave the lot. She hadn’t told us any of these “rules” when we entered and there was no signage mentioning these time limits or fees. We explained we wanted to dine at the restaurant but couldn’t. We asked if we could just purchase something and come back and she said no and we needed to pay the fee. We went back in to talk to the restaurant and confirm the fees. The employee came out to talk to the parking attendant and when we told her about the $50 USD fee, she was confused and the attendant changed her story. They said we could purchase something from Fiore and leave so we had to go back in to buy a pastry. Needless to say, we had a horrific experience. We were excited to have a nice brunch out, but we left disappointed and almost...
Read moreI recently started eating at Fiore and have thoroughly enjoyed the great food and fresh ingredients along with the friendly staff. It is great to see them thrive and stay busy. However, today I had a very frustrating experience that I want to share with customers, and hopefully management and/or owners will see this and can change their customer service policy so others don’t leave unhappy. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30am on 18 February and ordered a cappuccino and the oatmeal delight. The place was bustling and the drink took a while. After about 40 minutes I asked my male waiter if my food was still coming and he said yes. About 10 minutes later he came by and asked me to remind him what I had ordered. After another 15 minutes (and watching other customers come, eat and leave), I got up to ask what was happening just as my food was just coming out of the kitchen. It was well over an hour since I ordered. I was friendly and said I need to take it to go and I don’t think I should have to pay for it, but I will pay for my coffee. There were three workers with me who were very nice and agreed. I went to the cashier, paid for my coffee and even left a tip. After about another 5 minutes and no to go container, I asked again for my food and this time the female supervisor met me. She then told me she would bring me my bill and get the Oatmeal. I said I already paid for the coffee, I am not paying for my food that is so late. She basically said that was not possible, but she would give me a 20% discount. I said that is not how customer service works- she should take the food off the bill. She repeatedly told me I didn’t understand. I said that I have dined at many other solid establishments here in Cabo and if there is something wrong, the right thing to do is to take it off the bill. I said I live here and would want to come back. She then suggested that the waiter would have to pay for my food if I didn’t (which I would t want to happen). At that point I told her I would be sharing my experience with others and left starving...
