ABC Clubsandwich — Restaurant in Amsterdam

On a rainy Saturday morning, my mother and I found our way to this restaurant, searching for a menu that could satisfy her desire for a more savoury lunch and mine for a sweet breakfast. This was the perfect solution! We were very graciously met by the man working there at the time and seated ourselves outside, where we had a lovely view of the canal in front of the restaurant.

My mother ordered the coco club sandwich, I believe it was called, and she thoroughly enjoyed it (especially delighting in the extra sauce that was served with it). I, meanwhile, ordered Breakfast 3, which makes sense when you look at the menu. It included a light, airy omlette, poffertjes, a small side salad, and what I firmly believe to be the best bread I have had in my life.

With great views of Herengracht canal and the top end of Wolvenstraat, ABC is a delightful breakfast and lunch room in the 9 Streets area, with seating inside and outside.

A favourite brunch hangout, the menu features omelets, fried and scrambled eggs, pancakes, poffertjes, meat and vegetarian burgers, soups, salads, snacks, wraps, sandwiches and of course ABC's signature club sandwiches generously packed with delicious ingredients and among the best you'll find anywhere.

Coffee is decent, especially with a patisserie and there's a choice of smoothies, fruit shakes and freshly pressed health drinks.

Went for lunch with an old colleague of mine. We both got the club sandwich and were not immensely pleased by our choice. We got a good amount of food but it unfortunately was not super tasty. The overall dryness of the sandwich was what stuck out the most in our experience. The clubs were overloaded with smoked chicken which tends to be a popular ingredient amongst sandwich places like this as it is cheap and requires little to no preparation (you can get it sliced already). Overall not a bad experience, there are better sandwiches out there but they will be smaller.
