C&A — Local services in Amsterdam

We had a terrible experience because of a racist employee. We were at the online checkout to buy socks, paying at one of the three empty cash registers while our 3-year-old daughter was scanning another sock at the adjacent register. The racist employee came over and rudely exclaimed, 'That's not a toy, it's forbidden.' We explained that our child is accustomed to using these machines in supermarkets and knows how to use them, and that she should be more polite. We also told her she couldn't continue being so rude and aggressive with us. In response, she aggressively stated, 'This might be normal in your country, but not here.' She then attempted to order us to 'leave this place.' We requested to speak with the store manager, but she brushed it off, claiming to be the manager. We then went to another floor to report to another authority, but when she came over, she continued to react loudly in her language. When we asked her to speak English and accurately convey the situation, she insisted on speaking in German, claiming this is Germany. We reminded her that it's the Netherlands, and to avoid further argument, we left. Such a shame on the brand to have such people reflecting a bad image to the people who came as tourists in this...

Very bad customer service. I waited at the register for service for 5 mins while 2 employee's looked at me several times but neither assisted. I decided to do the self serve but I don't speak dutch. One employee stared at me as I did the self serve very closely. I scanned the paper bag 3 x but it did not come up in price it said a message on the screen in dutch. I assumed then the bags were not meant to be paid for as bags in my country are free and given the barcode on the bag didn't work 3x (only the bag for packaging my clothes) so I proceeded paid for everything and the second I stopped and began to walk said emplyoee asked for my receipt and abruptly and rudely exclaimed I did not pay for the bag, to which I replied I scanned it 3x you were watching me ! She then said there is a become to scan on a string next to the register. I said oh OK sorry I can pay now. She huffed and was very rude the whole time ! Maybe service your customers that wait at the register over 5 mins instead of staring at them !! This rudeness was over 0.25c ! Enorm deprimerend de collectie herenkleding in de zo nieuwe Kalverstraat winkel. En dat moet flagshipstore heten ?! Lijkt wel Peek & Kloppenburg anno1980 zo duf. Wat blij was ik toen dat Dsmrak C&A nog bestond. Nu hier in Kalverstraat veel te veel xxl xxxl maten. Smal en M schijnt altijd minder ( te weinig) ingekocht. ( Een probleem waar zelfs personeel Damrak destijds verzuchtte ...."we geven t door, maar naar ons wordt niet geluisterd door inkoop " )Mijn tegenvaller is ook de stijl kleding. Lijkt erg op gebruikt winkel retro. Goedkoop easy aandoende fotoprints op t shirts geen echte creativiteit. Als je lijf maar als hobbezak er uit komt te zien. Lijkt wel Aldi kleding. Sexy licht getailleerde pasvorm lijkt gemeden. Saaie paspoppen. ( Zijn de ooit super etaleuzes afgedankt?) Echt een afgang dat Primark wél je vlot en trendy laat uitzien. Ik heb rond 2010/15 zo ontzettend leuke kleding gezien en massaal gekocht ( Urban District....stiekeme Lonsdale als eigen merk verkocht) op het Damrak filiaal. 2 jaar voor corona ging t al weer richting fantasieloos en geen design. Ik kocht bij de oude C&A trendier kleding dan bij Cool Cat en Wham. Nu Topman ook weg is is dit saaie legerdesheilswinkel collectie type kledingstijl gekomen. De fout die destijds het nu verdwenen met veel poeha opgezette warenhuis aan t Rokin de kop kostte, niemand pruimde de slecht nageaapte 50 er jaren stijl. Zo jammer! Alleen al die prachtige vernieuwde art deco winkel gevel verdiend al een collectie met meer echte stijl. Ik hoop dat er snel een ander inkoop staf komt of andere firma in zelfde pand. Wat voelde ik me altijd gelukkig alleen al met doorlopen van t oude Nieuwedijk/Damrak pand. Wie kent nog t cafetaria op 1ste verdieping ? De Frans Molenaar hoek met de verkoopster waar je je op visite in háár afdeling voelde. Lachen ...o wee , als je een kledingstuk van de 'mindere tak' op de zelfde verdieping bij haar spiegel paste. Die heerlijke roltrappen met prachtig design wanden die nooit verveelden. Het leuke personeel. Nee, naar t centrum gaan voor C&A om bij de Roode Leeuw je buit te bekijken en showen is helaas niet te compenseren met dit depri filiaal. Ik had me er zo op verheugd.,😥😢 Sinds mn 15 de jaar klant.Tip: Voor wie echt nog iets aparts wil.... Kijk eens in C&A duitsland naar de stijl...
