Beware tourists!! Avoid this place. Dishes are extremely salty to hide the taste of the fish/meat. They replaced our ceviche after we said it had too much salt. Hygiene doesn’t seem to be the thing here. One of those who is preparing sushi doesn’t wear mask and gloves while the other one does. And it seems she’s complaining all the time. Just saw the one the one wearing gloves licking sauce with his gloves and then preparing the plate. Drinks we ordered took 15min to arrive and the first dish 30min. They didn’t have half of the dishes we asked and after an hour the guy came and said they didn’t have lobster and asked us to change. We just cancelled it. The young girl beside us ordered the exact same dish and she was asked to change it. The cooker prepared the food in front of us you could see that he barely cooked the food. I hope the girl won’t get food poisoning. Oh and don’t expect the “Bao Bun” as written on the menu to be the white fluffy steamed bread. It is pita bread. Look at the photo. Oh and just caught the woman preparing sushi eating one hiding under the table and then preparing dishes for customers without cleaning her hands. (Check photo) It’s been more than an hour now and I still haven’t received my pho soup. The rice I ordered never arrived. Now it’s there but it’s definitely not a pho soup. Lack of taste and lots of salt, no ginger and chilis. Overall the service was disorganised and super slow. Not worth it.

Our server, Juan, was great and charismatic, we walked in and were seated right away. The place was so charming and decorated so nicely! Our hotel was next door so it was a must go when we walked passed it! We love Japanese food and loved the Peruvian fusion to it! First they gave us a welcoming shot that was a tropical fruity ice tea shot and also a complementary tartare dish on a crunchy rice cracker. All the drinks we got were amazing!! I got the passionfruit ice tea but it had other elements to it and it was so delicious and refreshing! My sister got another drink which was tangy and fruity - sorry I don’t know the name of it but it came in that pineapple! The ceviche marusu was to die for. They had sweet potatoes in for a Peruvian twist? And it paired up so nicely with the rest of the ceviche. We then ate the fried shrimp Which was good with a yummy sauce. Next we devoured the pad Thai- definitely not what you will be used to- but it’s a nice fusion with charred octopus and these delightfully light .. tofu ? Bits .. was weren’t sure what it was but it was so delicious! We tried the scallop parm and octopus sushi which was good. I am a bit of a sushi snob so it was a bit too much rice for me but to others it was perfectly fine. Despite that, the sushi rolls all unique tastes and delicious elements to it. Would recommend 10/10! We come here again… you may see us another time Before we leave!

During our 2 weeks in Cusco eating out every day, Miwa was the most disappointing experience. The fish was not fresh, very chewy, and poorly sliced. The sushi and maki were not well rolled. Growing up in Asia and having lived in Japan, the standard here felt far below average. The sushi chef was often on her phone even while the restaurant was busy, and the wait staff were not well trained in giving recommendations. The restaurant was full of locals, so perhaps the flavors are catered more to local tastes, but anyone expecting decent-ish Asian or Japanese standards will likely be disappointed. We sat at a table next to the bar and were distracted by how much the floors shook whenever waiters walked by. Our table was also positioned next to a booth, making service awkward and leaving us feeling in the way, which affected the dining experience further. We came with low expectations for Asian food outside of Asia, but unfortunately this was still not it. There are many better options in Cusco.

Bizarre interaction with the waiter dampened the spirit of our visit, and so many staff on in a small space, often standing on the steps watching out over a small dining space is suffocating.

Will start with a good: waiter, bar the comment I’ll mention, was pretty pleasant. The rolls we ordered were nice, as were the veggie gyozas. My husbands Pork miso ramen was tasty, but average.

The not so good: Tofu ramen broth was tasteless, and the meant-to-be-crispy tofu was soggy and disintegrating. House white by the glass is terrible, stick to beer or a cocktail.

Now, the comment .. Between 2 adults post-5 day trek we ordered 6 rolls each, shared gyozas (6), and a ramen each. When I asked for an additional egg for mine, anticipating that the tofo may not be great, the waitor grimaced. He said we’d ordered too much food already, and honestly made a bit of a song & dance about it for a few minutes. This made me, a female and paying customer, INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. So, I went without the egg and ultimately ended up taking it from my partners dish.

I understand that food wastage may be of importance, but this didn’t feel like the angle. But, we really didn’t order a huge or greedy amount of food. Whatever the case, if I could have gotten up and left on the spot without making a scene, I’d have done so out of principle.

Based on this and the average food,...
