We were allocated this hotel by our tour company and stayed for two separate stints (before and after our visit to Machu Picchu). We’re a family of 4, so experienced four different rooms, and all four had issues. ||We could endure the cold hotel, basic breakfast, 1 cm draft gap around the bathroom window, use of temporary heaters to provide bearable warmth, but when faced with non flushing toilets and death trap electrics we drew the line and moved hotels. ||One room had an exposed live plug socket, our children’s room had a burnt out hair dryer that may/may not have been live. The temporary metal radiator room heaters had 3 core cabling, yet the plugs used didn’t include an earth, in fact the plug on the heater in the children’s room had been butchered with the earth pin removed. Any fault and you would become the electric route to earth!||Our ‘new’ Cusco hotel is a 15 minute walk away but is the same price. It is 100 times better quality. The walk to the centre takes in some lovely side street cafes and charming souvenir shops. ||Don’t be tempted by convenience and location!!! Stay elsewhere, stay anywhere else in fact and you...
Read moreThis place should be avoided at all cost! The breakfast, as sparse as it is, is inedible. I was forced to stay here for several days by my tour operator and the 2 times I tried to eat the breakfast I got uncomfortably sick with the common gastrointestinal condition that travelers sometimes incur. The juice is in one of those nice dispensers that has a cooling core in the center but the core isn't used. And the burners under the egg pan aren't utilized either. The bread and jam are left out overnight and are totally nasty.||||Laundry service here is a complete joke. One day they took my clothes and stuffed it under the counter and just tried to hand it back to me that evening as being washed. When I saw the particular individual that had done that in the morning he laughed about it in an unusual way, I believe he did it intentionally. Another time I had a pair of someone else's socks included with my clothes.||||The rooms themselves (I had 2 different rooms over this period) would probably be worth 2 stars but with this kind of service that isn't...
Read moreI do not recommend this place at all. ||1. Bad security for foreigners or locals||I had a package and disappeared from my room no one get the responsable of this and they did not have cameras working in the hotel to verify this or resolve the situation I did not see any effort or worry from the hotel: I do not feel comfortable with the situation because could be another document more important as my passport or wallet (I would not like this to happen to another foreigner).||2. Few breakfast options ||The options to choose what to have for breakfast are few and there is no variety.||3. Cold rooms||Cusco it is very cold place more at night and early in the morning and my room had only one blanket, the heating did not work so I had to use my poncho and more clothes to do not get frozen.||4. The shower has no door||To taking a shower as the shower there was no door the whole bathroom was flooded and even the water came out into the room: not...
