I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars, but the following events that occurred completely changed that. When we initially came, our room was a great ambiance, size, shower, etc. When my father faced altitude sickness, they assisted him with oxygen, really nice service. This service is what kept us to return to this hotel. After we went to Machu Pichu and returned to Cusco, we had this hotel prebooked with our stuff we left behind. The room they gave us this time is 101, and room 101 is located directly opposite to the main bathroom. Along with that, although the room has a "window" (which doesn't do anything), the room is small and very claustrophobic compared to the original one. Also, the sink is located outside the bathroom and requires a whole walk from the bathroom to access not at all comfortable. The bathroom has a 1 inch gap, and the exhaust doesn't work. Its more or less a motel room, and when we requested the front desk for a different room, they said they didn't have any. Now I would understand this if we came late and on the spot, but we booked this hotel for both of these times in advance, really making me question how the hotel wouldn't reserve a room on par with the first one for us (and they said we couldnt cancel the room either now). Upon this, the man at the front desk went on to say how the room is great. We were considering going to a different hotel, but due to all of our stuff here and a long day, we just decided to stay. For the money we spent 101 is not even close to worth it, and no one should take it. I am deeply unhappy that a hotel would treat its customers like this.

I will start with good things: - location is unbeatable - its close to everything and 2 mins walking from the Main square - stuff is great - very friendly and willing to help - room was clean and the size was ok - breakfast is good and there is “tea bar” throughout the day. They also prepare you “lunch box” when you have a tour early in the morning - Surit y Saly (not sure if I wrote it well) are really great. Always with a smile. So where is the problem? - all the rooms face inner courtyard and you cannot open a window. Well, you can but people will be walking in front and its going to be loud. In my case its also the fresh air I always need. - Its an old building so floors are thin as well as walls and you hear everything one way or another - There are always people sitting down in the inner courtyard talking, making video calls, online meetings etc. - Rooms have a smell. They do keep the window open while there is nobody in the room but when u r there, you cannot do it cause obviously - anyone could enter. So the facility itself is not good - it has nothing to do with people working here but with the building itself. If you are young and dont mind - its great. But if you are above 30 and want to rest a little to adjust to the height or relax after a 13 hours tour or just came back from hiking or just breathe a fresh air (keep in mind there is shortage of air cause of the height so you have to adapt), this is not the best option.

AMAZING!!! Only a few blocks from The main Plaza de Armas is a hidden gem with the most amazing staff, cozy rooms, and a great vibe . It's not always easy to find great customer service when traveling but the staff at La Posada del Viajero were the best by FAR! From such kind smiles at breakfast in the morning before being whisked off on a magical tour to the warm welcome upon the tiresome return in the afternoon. The staff were always on point with any needs, requests, or a simple recommendation. We would get such a wonderful rest in the rustic yet warm rooms. Of course, there was plenty of hot water for all of the guests in our group and the wi-fi fully aided any work to be done and much easier. There were heaters in the rooms if needed, but the blankets were also very comfortable and warm. Also, The breakfast nook had such beautiful views of the mountains. Just so majestic. So many reasons to come back again. I can't thank your hotel staff enough. Again, most amazing customer service in all of Cusco. A big THANK YOU to Kenia, Sully, Jaseny, Ruth, Naira, Dabne, and Iris for making my Father's birthday so magical. Such a wonderful team, such a wonderful hotel.
