Nestled in the heart of Oxford Street in London, I stumbled upon a delightful culinary gem that brought a burst of colour and flavour to my lunchtime routine. The very first Italian-owned donor kebab outlet in the UK proved to be a refreshing departure from the mundane options typically found on this bustling street.
As I contemplated my usual M&S sandwich, my attention was immediately captivated by the vibrant exterior of this establishment. Stepping inside, I was greeted with impeccable service by a tall gentleman behind the counter, whose warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for a truly enjoyable dining experience.
The interior ambiance was nothing short of lively and inviting, with the rhythmic hum of the food preparation machinery adding to the excitement. It was a joy to witness the culinary creations coming to life before my eyes, amidst a backdrop of bustling activity and lively conversations.
The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the chicken donor, generously portioned with succulent meat that was tender and flavorful. Accompanying the donor were onion rings bursting with freshness, each bite offering a delightful crunch and burst of savory goodness and not soggy like other fast food chains.
What truly set this experience apart was the integrity and transparency in portioning, unlike some other establishments that may resort to deceptive practices. Unlike The German Doner Kebab, there was no skimping on protein here, ensuring that every bite was a satisfying indulgence.
In conclusion, I eagerly anticipate returning to this charming Italian-owned donor kebab outlet, and I sincerely hope to see more of them gracing the culinary landscape of the UK. Welcome to the UK, and best of luck to this delightful establishment in their endeavors to delight palates and hearts alike. Grazie mille for a truly memorable...
Read moreThe stars don't reflect the food itself, they reflect the portion size, pricing, and owners attitude towards this business, passed down through its employees.
I had a specific request for the food to be gluten free and it was fulfilled in the end, although I had to tell the staff to cook the chips in the over to avoid CROSS CONTAMINATION in the fryer , for a product (chicken kebab box) that's marked as gluten free in the Allergen list.
So, if not for my own precaution, I'd be eating contaminated chips and be misled that they're gluten free.
My 2nd point, is the price and portion size. £8 only feeds a child here, the portion sizes were shockingly small, I'd say I had 30 chips max, a punch of lettuce and 50 grams of chicken in the box. I needed 2 boxes to be half full.
I understand it's in the middle of London, but they could simply offer a larger portion, and if money really is a problem they could charge another £2 for it too.
Lastly, visibly unhappy staff, I personally don't blame them, an overly reactive passive-aggresive security guard, that shoes some customers away like wolfs from the chicken den, and disgusting toilets.
The same security staff patrolled the building, saw the toilets, and did nothing about it, nor were the employees informed about it.
I'd eat here again only if im starving. I'll update this in the next few days if it turns out my food still had gluten despite my requests and I feel ill from it, if not, then at least they...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of eating at Kebhouze, and let me tell you, it was an absolute shambles from start to finish. This place is a joke, plain and simple.
First off, the service is an utter disaster. It took ages to get my order, and the chaos behind the counter was something else. The owner, strutting around and barking at people, was downright rude. To top it all off, the staff were shouting at each other the whole time, making the place feel more like a battleground than a restaurant.
When my food finally showed up, it was a complete travesty. The kebab was a sad excuse for a meal that looked nothing like the pictures. The meat was dry and tasteless, probably cooked days ago. And the wrap? It was as dry as the Sahara Desert. I wouldn't feed the crumbs to a starving pigeon.
And don't be fooled by the high Google ratings. I’m convinced those reviews were bought because no sane person would rate this place highly. Kebhouze is a complete waste of time and money. The only thing they dish out is disappointment. Avoid this kip at all costs.
Go around the corner, you have a nice traditional fish...
