The staff was amazing!!! Loved the bartender Loren, the bar back Richard? And our waiter who said he was Portuguese (don't recall name). Beautiful restaurant! Valet was a reasonable price ($4). I sat at the bar at 8:45pm waiting for our table (we booked our reservation online for 9pm) and I asked the host to inform me at the bar, where we were waiting, when it was ready. Come 9:33pm I went to the front to see how much longer, and it appeared to me we had been forgotten. I say this due to the surprised expression I recieved in response to my question and prompt immediate seating thereafter. We were greeted by a man that introduced himself as our waiter, who was replaced by another within a few minutes later (but this first waiter was still waiting the table next to ours) which seemed odd. Felt like we were being handed off, passing the buck, but the second waiter was excellent. There were a lot of birthday guests. I think we heard the birthday song 3 times during our meal. Must, must get the shrimp cocktail! The shrimp were Giant, Meaty and the cocktail sauce had a slight tang to it, just right. The mashed potatoes looked pretty aesthetically, but were flavorless and bland. I'm guessing may have low sodium for heart healthy guests? I'd like to suggested adding cream cheese to the potatoes maybe, to help with texture and taste. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare and it was very rare, not bloody mind you. It was more like a seared ahi tuna appetizer texture and taste, verses a juicy fillet mignon I've had in the past vists. I did not ask it to be cooked further since I wasn't going to finish it and figured we'd be better off reheating it at home. I just ate the cooked ends off, but this did effect my overall experience along with things mentioned here and others I did not add because I really like it here and therefore I gave one less star. Upon retrospect, I should have just had them cook it some more. The fruit on top of the creme brulee I ordered could have been prettier, the sliced strawberry on top looked less than appetizing, dark and wilted on the outside. The dessert itself had a feather thin sugar surface and was heaven once you dived into it, true bliss. Maybe it was just an off night or I'm being too critical. I guess I just expect quality when I spend over $230 on a meal for two not including tip, but other than that, it was enjoyable and fun. We're excited to try the sweet potatoe casserole and split...

Read moreMy level of restaurant expectations is relative to the cost. I have worked in the restaurant industry in the past and have a healthy respect for those who make a career in the business. That being said, I was disappointed with my 1st experience at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Anaheim. Perhaps it had to do with the location and it's proximity to Disneyland, and maybe my experience would have been different if experienced away from a tourist trap type of environment. Having reservations for an anniversary dinner and arriving on time resulted in waiting an additional 20 minutes for a table to be ready for us. The restaurant was not overly busy and there were plenty of empty and set tables within view of the waiting area. I have no idea what the issue was getting us sat, but started my experience out on a bitter note. Once sat, things progressed as it should with a nice greeting, and suggestions for wine and dinner from the server. We placed our orders and the Ceaser salad we chose for a first course was really good. The steak I ordered was delivered overcooked and the server took at least 10 minutes to return to check on us so I could show the issue, the server was nowhere to be found during that time or I would have signaled for their attention, but no. After seeing the temperature of the steak it was whisked away quickly for another steak to be prepared. The manager returned with apologies which was nice and offered to prepare a new side dish as well, which I accepted. Once the new steak and sides were on the table it was properly cooked this go around and was nice. It wasn't the best steak I'd ever had, but a nice piece of meat to be sure. They did 'upgrade' our desert free of charge, but the desert was unimpressive as well. Overall, my finer dining money will be spent at the likes of Morton's Steakhouse, The Capital Grille or Maestro's where I have been numerous times without incident. I was hoping to have a better experience than I had, and perhaps I will try a different location before writing them off completely. Hopefully you will have a better experience if you choose to try this location as a first timer to Ruth's Chris but for me, I will not return to this...
