Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Atlanta

Do not come here unless you want your car booted! I USED TO LOVE COMING TO THIS LOCATION..NOT ANYMORE!! I love Caribou coffee. When the location by me shut down in the Vinings area, I started coming to this location. It is a bit of a drive, however I love Caribou so it was worth it. I come to this location for coffee dates with friends. I grabbed coffee and then walked across the street to Chicfila to grab lunch afterwards like I typically do. When I returned my car was booted. I found the man who was booting multiple peoples' cars. I explained to him that I was a paying customer and had only left my car for 20 minutes. He had no sympathy for me. He told me if I wanted it off my car I would have to pay to have it taken off. I paid the man and continued to question him. I asked who he worked for. He told me he works for an outside company that the owners of Caribou have hired. Caribou, are you really going to have a paying customers car booted? Do not expect me back for business! Shame on you for being so strict with parking and hiring a company to ruin someones day! I could understand if I had parked in your lot and never went inside of Caribou and was not a paying customer. Every time I come to Caribou—every single time—there’s some sort of drama over the same drink. Whether it’s early in the morning or during my break, it’s never consistent. And let’s talk about the price: nearly $12 for what ends up being a bland, disappointing cup of coffee? I drink this daily. The least I expect is accuracy.

I don’t even have a sweet tooth—rarely ever crave sweets—but when I ask for something sweet, I want it done right. I’m vegetarian and have intentionally avoided Starbucks because of their quality decline, but honestly? I’m this close to going back. At least I know what I’m getting over there, even if it’s mid.

Half the time here, I can tell the shots are off—either weak, missing, or completely wrong. It’s frustrating and frankly, not worth the money. The only saving grace is one cool guy who works there; every time he makes my drink, it’s perfect. Unfortunately, when he’s not around, the whole operation feels like a gamble.

I have never had a negative experience at this Caribou by any means, but today really blew me out of the water. I have a medical condition that requires me to be very careful of my caffeine consumption so I can only have decaf coffee, unless I'd like a trip to the ER. I went to a different location today where my coffee tasted like it was made with regular espresso. When we asked them about it they insisted it was made decaf and said "their decaf just tasted like regular espresso" and wouldn't remake it. We decided to make the trip out to this location and I'm so glad we did. I wish I had gotten the name of the Baristas because they were so attentive and kind! They made sure my drink was made exactly as I ordered it and told me to let them know what had happened ahead of time next time so they could provide the drink for free. My drink tastes just like it's supposed to and their incredible service made it well worth the trip. Give your baristas at this location...
