Tea @ NM Cafe
The Cafe itself is quaint, with a lovely brightly colored decór. The bright colors just make you feel happy! It wasn't overcrowded with people, because as I previously stated it's quaint and holds just enough people for you to feel comfortable, while dining. In addition to the tea menu, they also have an extensive, everyday lunch menu which has something for everyone. As we were being seated, the hostess asked if we would also like a lunch menu, we said yes, thinking that perhaps the tiered, savory and sweet tea bites, may not be very fulfilling. Let me just say, WE WERE WRONG! With the delicious and plentiful variety of both tiers, we were all STUFFED! My favorite savory of all was the cucumber sandwich, and my favorite sweet was the cheesecake. Perhaps my favorite thing of all was the popover and strawberry butter, it was simply delectable! Truly, all of the savories and sweets were very good. While dining, I also had the pleasure of trying two teas at the NM Cafe. The Dammann Frères Tisane Chamomile and the Dammann Frères Rooibos Citrus. I love Chamomile tea and drink it often at home, so I wanted to try the Dammann Frères brand, and it certainly did not disappoint! It was everything that a Chamomile tea should be, and I was particularly impressed with it's bright yellow appearance, as most Chamomile's are a bit lighter in color. Now, as it relates to the Dammann Frères Rooibos Citrus tea, I must say I was more than impressed! I've never been one to fancy citrus flavors, lemon, lime, orange, etc. However, as I sat and read over the cafe's tea menu, I was intrigued by the ingredients of this tea. So, I decided to try it and I'm delighted I did! The Dammann Frères Rooibos Citrus tea has notes of clementine, blood orange, lemon, and cola. It is also infused with South African Rooibos root. The Dammann Frères Rooibos Citrus tea was one of the most flavorful teas I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. It is my recommendation that you give...
Read moreLet me start by saying that the Neiman Marcus Cafe Atlanta is a hidden gem. It's kind of that cool, hip place that you didn't know existed. We are part of a ladies tea group and wanted to check out the new afternoon teatime at NM. I was delighted first with the colorful motif . You enter the doorway to this cheery spot ; colors are warm and inviting. Yes, mood is raised before you even are seated. We were taken to our linen clad and cloth napkin table along with the individual Dammann tea pot. My favorite sandwich bites were the egg salad garnished with fresh dill and chicken salad on croissant. All were delicious but these were tops for me. On the sweet tray I loved the NM chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake bites. Now to the teas. I tried two of them but will review the Breakfast tea. Dammann is masterful with their blends! Normally Breakfast tea is tried and true, simple and reliable. This blend shakes that up in a great way. It is a blend of Ceylon, Darjeeling and Assam. I didn't know that blend was missing from my palate but now I know! Loved it and will be ordering it for sure. NM was a delightful afternoon with delightful friends. We...
Read moreMy wife and I dined at the NM Cafe yesterday for lunch. We arrived around 11:45 and while we were there about 5 other tables and 3 counter customers were served. There were 2 waitpersons but service seemed a little slow. I think it was the kitchen not the servers. The popover served with honey butter was a nice free appetizer but the demitasse cup of broth seemed a little "off". My wife's chicken salad sand on a croissant was very good. My hamburger was a disappointment because of the meat. It was properly cooked to medium but had some gristle that stuck in my teeth. I think a $17 burger deserves better...
