It was such a mixed bag and thankfully we weren't hungry. Every negative we experienced had a positive so I wish I could give this 2.5.
Let's start with the good first. We walked by early afternoon, saw they had $1 oysters, so we had lunch then came back, probably around 2:30. Plenty of seats so we sat outside. They lined the asphalt with some fake grass which was a nice touch. The inside seemed nice too.
The hostess asked if we wanted to start off with anything so immediately we asked for 3 dozen oysters. A little while later we put in our order with the waiter. Oddly enough, a waitress came by a few minutes after and we told her we ordered. Then more time passes and she came back to confirm the order because they were changing shifts. No problem, we repeated. We waited a very long time. Oysters came out, actually had much more than 3 dozen. Cool. Clam chowder was good with plenty of clams. We asked waiter for small plates, he didn't remember. We had the waiter, the waitress, a woman in a suit, and a man in a suit all check in on us but they all seem lost - except for the man in the suit. We told him one of our apps still didn't come out and we can just cancel it if it wasn't ready. He said he'll check on it and did actually bring it out within a minute, and he said it was on the house. Getting the check was another adventure...3 different people and it still took 15 minutes And the whole time both the waiter and waitress were around so who knows what was going on there.
Anyway, the food was just OK. Not sure why operations were all over the place when we went. It wasn't for the lack of effort but seems like they need better communications between each other and the kitchen too. Crazy enough, we might come back...hard to beat dollar oysters and we're hoping this was a bad...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I had an outstanding evening at Fin Point Oyster Bar & Grill on Broad Street—part of the Hilton—sampling some of their standout dishes and drinks in a stylish yet approachable setting.
We started with the Cold Seafood Tower ($89), a grand presentation featuring a luxe assortment of oysters (including Lemon Stone and Mere Points), jumbo shrimp, half a lobster, and salmon tartare. The oysters were fresh, briny, and beautifully chilled—perfectly reflecting Boston’s East Coast pedigree.
Since we weren’t starving, but still hungry, we opted to share the Lobster Ravioli ($36), made with Maine lobster and ricotta in a creamy mushroom sauce ... It was indulgent, balanced, and enough for two without feeling heavy.
A shoutout to our bartender, Stephanie, who brought energy and charm to the evening. She crafted excellent cocktails and kept the conversation as fresh as the seafood—she’s a real asset to the team.
To cap off the meal, the restaurant surprised us with the Four‑Dessert Sampler (petit fours, sorbet, mousse, and strawberry shortcake)—each bite delightful and visually appealing. We paired it with a glass of Allegrini Palazzo della Torre Amarone red wine ($15), which offered deep cherry notes and a velvety finish—an inspired choice from Stephanie’s recommendation
What stood out: Fresh, varied oysters, especially Lemon Stone & Mere Points Rich, flavorful lobster ravioli—perfectly portioned Stellar service from Stephanie, our bubbly and knowledgeable bartender Impressive dessert sampler and expertly chosen Amarone
Bottom line: Fin Point delivers an elevated seafood experience with standout flavors and top-tier service. Ideal for a date night or special occasion—don’t miss the seafood tower and lobster ravioli, and let Stephanie guide you on drinks...
Read moreFin Point is the epitome of class. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. On multiple occasions, I have had the pleasure of being cared for by bartenders and waitresses alike who know their menu from top to bottom.
The Bar + Grille is the perfect combination of business and pleasure.
At Fin Point, I have held several business meetings with partners who were from out of town. Needless to say, they could not have been more impressed.
In tandem with business, recently I have also come to Fin Point for an intimate, romantic date. The date went off without a hitch and the staff made it the perfect night for my girlfriend and I.
The entrees here are delicious and Peter S., the manager, leads his hardworking staff by example. The flexibility and adaptability of the staff is a testament as to why Fin Point has dual purpose for me; business and pleasure. I am continually impressed by the professionalism, attentiveness, and quality of service that is afforded to me time and time again. Thank you, Peter!
Recently, with the holidays upon us, the ambiance and overall environment is very cozy, welcoming, and warming on these cold December nights.
I have lived in the Greater Boston area my entire life, my only regret is that I did not find Fin Point earlier! I highly recommend this Bar & Grille to locals and tourists alike! They take customer service to a whole new level.
Attached is a picture I took with the holiday decorations up. However, don't take it from me, I encourage you to go see for yourself how wonderful a place and amazing a staff there is at Fin Point. You will not be...
