I had a very unpleasant experience going there. I went there on a Saturday evening with my fiancé and a few of her friends. We came from another bar and stopped by to grab a few drinks. We had a large group and about half of us ordered drinks. We were there for maybe 30 minutes when one of the staff came over to us and told us that because none of us ordered drinks we had to leave.
Now here the problem. I’ll admit that a few of us hadn’t ordered anything yet, I personally needed a moment before grabbing another drink. But how they approached us felt really strong. A few of us were literally in the middle of grabbing a drink. But what really rubbed us the wrong way was the fact we were the only group with POCs in them. It made it feel like we were being singled out. I doubt anyone would come up to us if we looked like the rest of the patrons.
If they really had an issue they could have talked to us before telling us we should leave. It felt more like they were looking for an excuse to remove us. There was no line at the door and still room in the place so it’s not like we were taking that much space. It left an awful taste in my mouth and it deeply hurt many of my friends. I’m sure the place is nice and the food and music is great. But I will never come back to that place if that’s how they...
Read moreSuch a disappointment; visiting from CT and asked people for recommendations on where to go, two establishments came up: Biddy Early's Pub and Dooley's.
At 55 years old I cannot believe what I came across this past Saturday, June 22nd at approximately 9pm at Dooley's. The door attendant was so unbelievably arrogant and offensive that it was impossible to even engage with him, I just had to walk away.
Management: the door attendant is often the first point of contact for patrons. Part of their responsibility is to make potential guests feel welcome to come inside. The key word is welcome. I really hope you take this feedback seriously.
For those that simply want to have a fun time, laugh, and get a cold beer or drink served with a friendly smile: check out Biddy's Pub! That’s where we ended up and...
Read moreNot the best service but decent for a late-night drink Walked into this pub with a few friends later in the evening. It is a small bar that gives off a few dive-vibes in the midst of Boston. It has some outside seating in a section of roped off side-street. There is not a lot of seating inside. Open fairly late most weekend nights.
We had a few small plates; the sausage, fries, potato skins, none of which were overly impressive but are simply bar food.
I recommend the Guinness float. Because why not have ice cream with your beer? It is worth a try for the sake of novelty if you have never had one before but is kind of expensive.
The staff was fairly neglectful. We ended up with two different servers and had to wait quite a while before we could order drinks and then again when we...
