I was in Monday for happy hour and Jared & Roger’s lack of customer service was very unacceptable. I was with my sorority sister and I went to the bathroom before ordering. My sister being proactive ordered my lemon drop which is my usual .. I didn’t know she ordered my drink .. so I ordered with Jared & he began to make my drink & Roger brought my drink out that my sister ordered. I usually get my Lemon drops with tequila which my sister was unaware of … I sent my drink back with Roger & was trying to inform Jared to continue making my drink… in the process Jared replied rudely “ you’re not the only one who needs a drink made” it truly ruined the experience for me. Next, my sorority sister asked Roger about a drink that taste like fruit loops that was on the old menu. Roger frowned his face up and stated I don’t know what you’re talking about. We both work in customer service and the proper response should’ve been … mam I’m unaware of that drink but what I can do is recommend xyz. Jared never came back to check on me so I had to order with Roger. & Jared continued to be stand off ish making drinks for free for his friends … It’s crazy the level of customer service at this establishment because the last time I went by boyfriend stated some of the wait staff acted like they didn’t want to talk to him or serve him. At this point I feel discriminated against and in this day and age it won’t be tolerated because I come here often and I’ve never experienced...
Read moreUPDATE: GET THE GARDEN GIMLET. IT'S PERFECTION I have been to this cocktail bar approximately 20 times now and it's my favorite establishment by far. The white flatbread and the quesadilla are good to eat but still a long way off from the quality of the drinks. This is my favorite bar in the U.S. currently and it happens to be the cheapest as well! The place is ALWAYS PACKED WITH PEOPLE so please stay away so I can have a seat!! AND you people stop coming to the bar and setting your personal objects in multiple seats to hold them for people who have not bothered to make it there yet. You are lucky people are nice and don't just move your crap because it's extremely rude to take a paying bar seat for your purse or jacket for 20 minutes. Have some respect for the business and it's customers. Damn... The cocktails are essentially flawless. I tried about 7 of them. I regularly go to all the best cocktail bars in DFW and Austin and honestly they are all a joke compared to Parliament. This is the best cocktail bar in Texas. Many people compare it to Smyth because it's similar but the drinks here are even better! I will say that Smyth's atmosphere was slightly better because it was even more intimate but this place is awesome too. I wish they had food that was more elevated than what was is offered by the restaurant next door, i did not eat it because it sounded very boring. Parliament needs to add fresh oysters or something like that...
Read moreI recently encountered an incredibly disheartening and discriminatory experience at Parliament Bar, which has left me feeling both disappointed and frustrated. It is with a heavy heart that I share my encounter, hoping that this review will shed light on the unacceptable treatment I faced and encourage the necessary changes to be made.
As an individual of African descent, I was appalled to find that I was denied entry into Parliament Bar solely based on the color of my skin and the way I was dressed. Despite observing that other individuals, dressed similarly to me, were allowed inside, I was unfairly targeted and prevented from experiencing what this establishment had to offer. This blatant racial discrimination is not only morally wrong but also legally reprehensible.
The fact that Parliament Bar allows such discriminatory practices to persist is deeply troubling. No person should ever be denied entry or be subjected to mistreatment due to their race or appearance. Discrimination in any form has no place in our society, let alone within a supposedly inclusive and welcoming establishment.
Regrettably, I cannot comment on the quality of the ambiance, service, or the overall experience within the bar, as I was denied the opportunity to step foot inside. However, it is evident that an establishment that engages in such discriminatory behavior, even at the entrance, is not a place to be frequented...
