Service was horrible. Met with a group of 6 in our family on Saturday for an early dinner. We had a reservation set for 6:30pm.
We arrived on time and the hostess (nice lady) sat us. The restaurant was not busy.
The waiter must have had a bad day as he was very agitated. I did not sense it at first. He asked if we were ordering drinks from the bar. I told him probably not. Things went downhill from there.
I felt somebody looking at me. I looked towards the bar and he is staring me down.
He then comes over and asks if we are ordering drinks again. My wife and daughter in law looked at the menu and asked a few questions. They decided they were not going to drink. We would probably just order dinner.
The waiter walks away aggressively and lets out a disgusted sigh.
I look at my son and asked if he heard and noticed what I did.
We agreed something was not right.
We were planning to have a great family get together and decided to find another restaurant close by as we did not want to deal with drama.
I asked the waiter to come over so I could pay for the tea I originally ordered. He came over and the conversation went south as we told him we were leaving.
The server was very agitated and said he did nothing wrong and looked like he wanted to fight.
I asked my family to head out and go to the car as I was going to speak to the manager.
I then walked to the front desk and asked the hostess to speak to the manager.
While my son and I were waiting for the manager, the server stood close by and stared at me asking what he did wrong with an aggressive look.
I let him know I would rather speak to the manager.
The manager arrived. I explained our experience and was shocked at the attitude of the server. The server interjected while I was talking saying he did nothing wrong.
The manager did not say much except that he was sorry and would like us to give them another chance.
We walked out as the server was staring us down.
After we walked out, my son made a comment “ it’s probably not a good idea to have your bouncer be the server”.
In hindsight, that summed up the entire experience perfectly.
We ended up at The Henry with a great experience.
Too bad as both my son and I take customers to lunch business meetings. Each of us with our own respective company.
I am 100% certain I will never set foot in that establishment again due to one individual.

Read moreMy friends and I experienced very unpleasant service today. I ordered the Monterey (eggs, salsa, avocado, bacon, toast; as listed on the menu) but asked to substitute the bacon for something vegetarian. I first asked for potatoes, to which our server rather sharply responded "No. It comes with potatoes." (it didn't). Regardless, I chose to take her at her word. I then asked, could I sub for avocado or extra toast? While in the process of deliberating between the two she interrupted "Ok... so avocado or toast?" Lastly, I asked if I could get it spicier, to which she very bluntly responded, "No... we can't make it more spicy." She didn't offer any reasoning, nor did she suggest she could accommodate me with hot sauce on the side. When my food arrived there were NO POTATOES. When she came back to visit our table, I asked, very kindly, "Excuse me, I think you said that this came with potatoes?" To this she responds, "Ok... just tell me what you want. Stop making this hard, and just tell me what you want." Fast forward to when it is time to pay. We each pay individually for our plates, and she holds the payment device for us to each use our card. My friend puts his card in and takes a bit of time filling out his tip. In response to this, she huffs and drops the payment device onto the table for him to complete the process, as if the time he was taking was significantly inconveniencing her. I decide to tip $1 on my $17 order, due to the poor service. She sees my tip and responds, "By the way, I didn't even charge you extra for the potatoes... for your dollar." All in all, she was extremely rude and unpleasant, and made it very obvious that she did not want to serve us, despite us being very pleasant customers. When we asked for a to-go box, the manager delivered it to us. My friend decided to make a note of the poor service, to which the manager responded, "She's actually one of our best servers. She could just be overwhelmed." This may be true, I want to give some grace to the waiter, she could have been having a bad day and was perhaps overwhelmed by the volume of customers. It is definitely a difficult job, but we were extremely pleasant customers. We all agreed that at the very least, the manager could have apologized for the rather less-than-great experience we had at...
Read moreThe food was fantastic. The service was terrible. The young man who took my order earlier told me his name, then when I returned and he noticed I was unsatisfied with the service he gave me another name. I was ignored when I first approached the counter by another man who was later identified as the manager on duty. When I asked what drinks he was good at making he replied none because I'm 2 years sober, " I couldn't figure out what that had to do with anything, I wasn't offering to buy him a drink" then walked off to make the drink I settled for. I ordered a drink "vodka tonic" with my meal and when I came back for another it was in a much smaller cup but the price remained the same. When I originally received my order there were no napkins and my order didn't come with any condiments. The young man who "struggled with his identity" finally took my appeared unapologetic and annoyed that I was there. I understand that these times are tough and he may have a lot on his mind. But I am visiting as a guest, a guest who over tipped to make up for his lost wages .... I didn't deserve to be treated the way that I was this evening. If the owner reads this review, this is the name of the person who took my order. I'm very upset with the service that I received, I was excited to give this place a try and embrace this neighborhood only to be treated in such a manner. I will share my experience with people and will most...
