My friend and I live on opposite sides of the US and met in Denver for a girls weekend. Neither of us had ever been to Denver. All I can say is WOW! We chose the Hilton Garden Inn due to the other reviews about it, we did a ton of research and looked at a ton of other places and I feel we made an excellent choice staying here. We didnt bother renting a car. We were able to easily take the airport train ($10.50 as of April 2022) and got off at Union station, then took the free 16th st mall bus and walked a block. It was very easy. Also Denver has the best public transportation I have ever seen, there is even an app you can download on your phone and you can plug into the app your current location and where you want to go, and the app gives you multiple times and busses you can take and tells you how to get to the bus stop, and the bus stops are numbered. The bus, rail and airport train announce and display each and every stop. We loved it, it was impossible to get lost. We used it all day every day all over the city. You can even buy a bus pass on the app. It was only $6 a day for unlimited bus and rail good until 3am I think. Since parking costs a lot anywhere, even as a Hilton guest, we just used public transportation, and didn't bother renting a car. I love how close this hotel is to the 16th st mall with tons of shopping, food, and things to do and see. There is even a Target close by on 16th st, you can walk there in less than 5 mins from this hotel. There were ALWAYS people at the front desk no matter what time, day or night. Also the doors to get into the hotel are locked to outsiders, you have to be a guest or be let in by staff. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. We felt very safe here as 2 single women with seperate rooms. We also felt very safe walking around the city and the 16th st mall, but we didn't stay out later than 9pm so not sure about what it's like on the streets after that. If you want to visit Red Rocks, it cost about $26 for a Lyft for us to go there. I will say, the hotel is kind of loud. I could hear all the cars on the street outside from the 6th floor, and my room was right by the elevators so I could hear all kinds of noise in the hallway all night long. Total bummer there. We went when they were renovating, it would've been nice to know the restaurant was closed, but we made do. Also there are no fans in the bathroom, which was odd, and can be unpleasant since theres no where for the smell to go after you use the toilet. Those are my only complaints. The rooms we had each had a king size bed, love seat, desk, Keurig, microwave, and fridge. Due to the location of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, clean rooms, and ease of getting around the city to and from the hotel, I have been telling every one I know to go here and check it out. 10/10 stars for us. Thank you...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Denver was both frustrating and disappointing. I had booked a day-use room with a 10:00 a.m.check in. After calling ahead to confirm, the hotel reception assured me my room would be available on time. However, upon arrival, I was met by a very rude receptionist who informed me that my room wouldn’t be ready for another two hours.
To pass the time, I decided to wait in the hotel’s restaurant, but that turned out to be an even bigger mistake. The restaurant was poorly managed, with the host barely acknowledging my presence not even bothering to look up, waiving me by and telling me to sit wherever I liked. I ordered the chilaquiles, a supposed guest favorite, but it took over an hour for my meal to arrive. When it did, it was a disaster—more like a plate of sour cream and eggs mixed with hot Doritos than proper chilaquiles. Throughout my wait, the staff argued loudly about tips and orders, with one host even walking out and the other refusing to take more orders. It was completely unorganized and unprofessional.
I went to find a restroom and encountered a housekeeping staff member who was the only bright spot in this entire experience. Upon learning that I was waiting for my day-use room, she took it upon herself to get it ready. She had my room cleaned and ready within the hour, which was the only positive aspect of my stay.
Unfortunately, when it came time to check out, the receptionist had trouble finding my reservation and somehow mixed it up with another booking. It took considerable time to straighten out the billing and get a correct receipt, but I insisted on ensuring that everything was accurate before leaving.
While the room itself was clean and comfortable, the poor service, disorganized staff, and lack of professionalism at both the reception and the restaurant made this stay a complete nightmare. If you’re considering staying here, I’d recommend spending the extra money to stay elsewhere, like the Hyatt up the street. The Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Denver needs serious improvements in customer service and...
Read moreThis hotel swings and misses on the standards and procedures of the Hilton Brand. Except for taking us in a day early, not much good occurred here. ||They appear to be short staffed, and lacking in professionalism and customer care. The market is skimpily stocked and limited selection. But they wouldn’t know if cause they don’t have enough people so they have self checkout, but no staff ever checks it. ||Request for extra pillows was not honored without constant follow up on our part. They don’t know or check to see if these things are done ahead of time. ||Don’t bother with the digital key system, as it won’t get you in the garage, and you can’t use it on any exterior door or to enter the building from the garage. This is in direct conflict with the Hilton Program, as outlined on the app. However, this hotel doesn’t care and will victim blame you if you try to use it like every other Hilton in the system. You must get a physical key and always have it with you. If you forget, you will get stuck in the garage with no way to enter the building, but worse yet, no way to exit. And if you complain, or get upset, they will tell you “you should have known better” and are not sympathetic you have been inconvenienced and frightened. |Parking is very expensive, $47 each night for self parking is egregious. |Even with a $10 per day for and beverage credit (gold elite or higher) you will still be out $12 for a mediocre buffet breakfast with no service until they ask for money. |The restaurant and bar are expensive, about 30% higher than the average hotel, and it too is understaffed. One staff to tend bar, and wait on all tables. Totally not fair to the bartender, though the blonde female bartender was on point and friendly. |I cannot fully express how inconvenienced and disappointed I was with this hotel, except for being adjacent to the convention center. |If I ever have the misfortune of visiting Denver again, there are many other options for lodging that are not the Hilton Garden Inn. ||I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN, and hope you...
