My wife and had just got into town. We checked in at The Hilton Gardens Inn where the Territory Kitchen and Bar attached. We asked the front desk if the kitchen was open and were told no. We were referred to the 16th street Mall for restaurants. After our dinner at Henry's, which by the way the food was excellent, we returned to the hotel. Before going to our room we stopped by Territory to get a cocktail. There were 2 young men behind the bar. One doing inventory, the other was serving a couple their drinks. Then he started wiping down shelves. I stood there for nearly 6 minutes and was never acknowledged by either guy behind the bar. I was the only black man in the establishment and my wife is white. We not exactly dress for inappropriately. We were in street clothes. We just drove up from C. Springs for a concert. My wife made a fuss about being ignored and we still weren't acknowledged. We own a bar and restaurant in the Springs and would never treat anyone like we were treated at the Territory Kitchen and Bar. Very smug for a place the sells $10 pizza and wings. Beware people of color. Places like this...
Read moreAs a guest of the hotel, I chose the Territory restaurant for convenience before heading to the airport. It was 7:30am Tuesday morning. I should've known by the emptiness that it was a poor choice. There was no hostess or staff greeting guests. I found a server and I asked if I should seat myself, to which she responded yes. She was the only server, but she proceeded to continue her conversation with staff behind the counter about her vacation the next day and the argument she had with her supervisor about it. The other staff member noticed me sitting unattended and asked if I needed something. I was the only ticket/order at the time. The only kitchen staff was a guy in an argument on his cell phone, walking around the dining area. The other 2 ladies told him he had an order in. I served myself coffee (after I was told all beverages were self serve). Eggs Your Way meal ($12) was average. If you're looking for self-serve, this may be for...
Read moreWhat a joke. We were staying at the hotel and so stopped on our way out for the day for breakfast, what a joke. First there is no one to greet you when you come in, and when we finally got someone away from their phone they were like just help yourself. We finally found out it was $10 for cold buffet and $20 for hot buffet. Scrambled eggs and bacon were cold, sausages were slightly warm, coffee was luke warm and the lone waffle in the pan looked pathetic. Once seated our supposed server came by and we let them know things were cold! Her response “OK” and on she went. Then about 2 minutes later our supposed server and another one got in an argument. This at least provided entertainment while we ate the mediocre food since they argued in front of everyone instead of taking the dispute out of the public eye. Do yourself a favor and just skip, worst $20...
