Sooo where do I start first and foremost the atmosphere was great even though I went for the takeout brunch I ordered my food and this was about 1:30 PM was told that I could not order the cheesesteak sandwich until 2:00 PM. I ordered the Mo Monte Cristo and also the smothered breakfast burrito with ground beef when I finally that I was finished placing my order which came up to $43. They called me back to the checkout stand after I had already gave a five dollar tip because they were so nice to be told that it’ll be an extra six dollars for the ground beef so I waited all of 45 minutes to receive my takeout order when my food came out it was stapled the Dr Pepper that I got was a size or two smaller than you would think it would be Didn’t complain left out, and once I got into a place where I thought I was going to be able to enjoy my meal the Monte Cristo was OK. It was very dry and the smothered breakfast burrito had a hamburger that they chopped up and there was no flavor. The cheese was burnt on top of my burrito which they said they smothered I asked for fresh onions. They only gave me cooked onions that was in side of the green chili sauce that was supposed to be spicy this was an absolute kick in the stomach because I’ve paid $50 for food that I only took two bites out of I will try this place again because I know there’s different cooks at different times and I’ve read some of the reviews and it seems to be a really good place again. The atmosphere was great so they only get one star at the moment because I do believe in given second chances I actually fed the food too all three of my dogs because I didn’t wanna waste that $50 so I guess it worked out for my animals if you know...
Read moreOverall a disappointing experience. To start, after a ten minute wait, we were sat at one of the uncomfortable “patio” tables despite the many open comfy tables inside the building. Thankfully they do have heat out there so it wasn’t too uncomfortable.
The cocktails were disappointing. I would never recommend the Armistice because it comes only half-full and more than half the glass is just one large block of ice and an orange peel. For $14 it felt like a rip-off. The spicy marg was okay but nothing to write home about.
For appetizers we ordered the brussel sprouts and cheese curds. The sprouts were delicious and honestly probably the highlight of the night. The cheese curds were more soggy than anything.
For entrees we ordered the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken and the Trout Amandine. While the chicken was well-cooked, the paltry serving of mashed potatoes compared to the amount of chicken you receive was disappointing and the toast being served underneath the chicken made it basically worthless as a side.
The trout was also well cooked and very tasty, but the potatoes served with it needed to be cooked more as they were disappointingly soft.
We didn’t stick around for dessert.
Food came out quickly but we felt we were generally waiting around for our server to arrive.
The 4% BOH surcharge is a complete surprise when the check arrives as it is not mentioned on the menu anywhere and considering how overpriced everything seemed, it feels like the owners are just pushing the labor cost onto the customer rather than paying from the cost of the food.
I would not recommend this place to anyone I know and we will likely...
Read moreSteuben's Uptown is hands down one of my all-time favorite spots in Colorado! I've been dining here since moving to the area over a decade ago, and it never disappoints. Whether it’s a casual meal or a special outing with visiting family, Steuben’s always hits the mark with its food, drinks, service, and warm ambiance.
Everything on the menu is house-made, from their dishes to sauces and dressings, and you can truly taste the quality.
My go-to cocktail is the Raspberry Lime Rickey—perfectly tart, refreshing, and balanced to perfection. And if you’re dining with a group, the Scorpion Bowl is a must-try—it’s a fun drink (that they light on fire!) made with rum, peach liqueur, and fresh juices. Definitely a show-stopper!
For food, where do I even start? The Clam Chowder is creamy and hearty, filled with chunks of potatoes and clams—a perfect way to kick off your meal.
The Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich is an absolute flavor bomb, wonderfully spicy with the perfect combo of coleslaw and pickles on a soft brioche bun. The Cheesesteak is another standout with its delectably seasoned ribeye steak, béchamel sauce, and soft Amoroso roll—its comfort food at its finest!
Then there’s dessert. I was blown away by the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake, complete with a toasted vanilla wafer crust, coconut meringue, and blackberries. Truly a masterpiece. Steuben's pastry chef deserves all the applause, so make sure you save room for their incredible creations to end your meal on the sweetest note.
Thank you, Steuben’s Uptown, for consistently delivering unforgettable dining experiences. Can’t wait for...
