This place used to be great and my absolute favorite until they got a new manager. The employees used to be so friendly but that experience changed today and we will never be going back. I’ve been taking my service animal to this restaurant since she was 7 months old and she was in training at the time. The employees welcomed her throughout her training and almost every time we came in offered treats and respect. They were extremely nice as most places I’ve experienced in Denver have not mentioned anything but praise about my extremely well behaved service dog. As we came into the restaurant today to place a togo order, my service animal did as she always does and proceeded to sit immediately to my right. I was greeted and as I placed my order, the “manager” (i’ve never seen this man in the 4 years i’ve lived nearby), proceeded to inform me my dog was not allowed here. He did not ask of her service status, he did not ask what she was trained for, he simply let us know we were not welcome in this establishment going forward. I let him know we’ve never experienced such rudeness in this establishment since we moved here in 2020 and started coming here. This manager proceeded to fire off snarky replies which resulted in us leaving. I will be filing a report with the ADA today. Please train your employees on proper service animal procedures before jumping to incorrect conclusions and disrespecting customers who’ve loved this establishment for years.
PSA: Before there is a response of “he didn’t know” or “she wasn’t wearing a vest” Colorado State Law does not require any worn vest or materials publicly identifying her as a service animal. Your employees have the right to ask the standard two ADA compliant questions. Which he did not even...
Read moreI think there sandwiches are of high quality but in my experience after about 10 experiences with them the quality stops there. My most recent experience was the worst. I placed an online order at 11:25 am for 4 items to pickup asap. It gave me a time of 70 minutes later when the food would be ready at 12:34pm. I was a little taken back by that for a relatively small order but I do know the general time to make a meal there is longer than the average so it wasn't a huge deal. I show up at this location at 12:30 to see about my order. I walk up to the Onine order register and stand there for about 20 minutes without being greeted or asked what i was there for. I sat down and then after being there for 50 minutes I was asked what order I was there for. At that time they were making my order. I received the order 45 minutes after the 70 minutes time I was originally quoted. Was the staff busy? Yes they were but this isn't an issue of being busy but rather having a poor process in place when receiving an online order. Hopefully they can get this process fixed or they will continue to lose customers who really enjoy the food but can't put up with that...
Read moreI have been ordering lunch catering from Backcountry Deli at 17th/Glenarm for over a year now and should have written a review sooner. I love them because they have free delivery for the neighborhood, they always deliver on time, they always get the orders right, their employees are always very pleasant to work with when we have last minute order changes, they have a huge variety of unique sandwiches, and everyone at my company is always satisfied with the quality of the sandwiches and salads. I really appreciate the fact that we can count on Backcountry for excellent and dependable service.
Recently we were missing a sandwich from our catering order that we had added last minute (first mistake we have ever had on an order) and the company was not only very polite when I called, but they were extremely prompt (sandwich was delivered in 10 min!!!) AND they offered some coupons as compensation for the inconvenience. Their customer service is truly outstanding!!! Will definitely continue to...
