Ocean Prime – Las Olas is a breathtaking new addition to Fort Lauderdale’s dining scene, and it deserves a spot on everyone’s must-visit list. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were warmly greeted and offered a choice between relaxing in the waiting area or enjoying a cocktail at the bar. I was pleasantly surprised to find a thoughtfully curated selection of zero-proof drinks, perfect for non-drinkers who still want a crafted beverage experience. The ambiance is nothing short of stunning. Sleek, modern interiors combined with panoramic views of the Intracoastal create the ideal setting for romantic evenings and upscale family gatherings. Dining on the second floor while watching boats drift by truly elevates the experience. Our server, Cheri, was incredible. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made our night special. We started with the bread basket, a generous variety of fresh, flavorful selections that set the tone beautifully. The sushi was next—ultra-fresh, perfectly balanced, and simply delicious. I had the ribeye, which was cooked flawlessly—juicy, well-seasoned, and flavorful. My wife ordered the grouper, which was also perfectly executed: tender, succulent, and beautifully plated. We chose the garlic mashed potatoes and the bacon creamed spinach for sides, which I highly recommend. The spinach was a highlight of the meal, rich, savory, and indulgent. A special mention goes to Sam, the manager, who stopped by to check in and made us feel genuinely appreciated. Our conversation with him added a personal touch to a great evening. Ocean Prime isn’t just another upscale restaurant—it’s an experience. With its stellar service, top-tier cuisine, and some of the best waterfront views in the city, this Las Olas gem is poised to become one of Fort Lauderdale’s premier dining destinations.

We rolled in 10 deep for a birthday brunch and Ocean Prime wasn't quite ready for us. The hostess stand had a little puzzle on their hands: they tried to give us a table for 8... and then, "solution," have 2 of us sit awkwardly off to the side like we were in time-out. We ended up playing restaurant staff ourselves and helped them reconfigure the seating. You're welcome, Ocean Prime. We were on the second-floor deck, which has a beautiful view of the waterway and all the boats cruising by, however It was full oven mode up there. Like brunch in a sauna. They really need more fans or misters or ice sculptures or something if they want people dining outside in summer. Just not sustainable as-is. Food-wise, we did it up: started with a seafood tower...oysters, crab, shrimp. Totally solid, nothing that reinvented the wheel, but it hit the spot. I had the Pineapple Picante to drink and that thing was a winner. Refreshing, spicy, summery, would definitely come back for that alone. App-wise, I tried the surf & turf app (braised short rib on scallops over mash), Hamachi Crudo, and 2 pieces of A-5 Wagyu Nigiri. All three were excellent, but that surf & turf app was my fav. For my entrée I went with the Prime Steak & Egg, 6oz NY strip. It was ok, Nothing wrong with it, but also nothing that's going to haunt my dreams in a good way. Wouldn't order it again. Service was attentive and friendly, but the brunch took almost 3 hours. We weren't trying to do a tasting menu, just brunch. Some lulls between courses felt real long. Not sure if the kitchen was backed up or what, but it dragged. Overall: nice setting, decent food, great drinks, but guessing they are still working out some kinks, especially with larger parties and outdoor comfort. Will likely be back, but not until they install AC on the deck or it drops below 80.

I felt it was important to give some feedback for this location. I've been to the Orlando location recently and the experience is vastly different. Food: I had the scallops and my girlfriend had the sea bass. Both were very over cooked. The scallops were small especially for the price. For the price they should be using the much larger scallops that most fine dining restaurants use. They were so over cooked that they had the texture of rubber. The sea bass was similarly cooked and the meat was dry. A good sea bass should be light and juicy. Service: the service felt like a casual dining experience compared to the Orlando location. I had to ask if there were specials then I had to ask that they be read. There were no steamed towels at the end of the meal. For the location and atmosphere the service felt no different than going into an Applebee's. Atmosphere: the location is excellent with amazing waterfront views, the valet, the clientele, etc were all top notch. It's because of this the proprietor REALLY needs to step up his game in managing this location. Overall I hope the lack of attention to detail is due to this location opening recently. You're dealing with high end patrons and there are many options for restaurants in the area. The chefs need to really increase in their skills. They cannot be serving overcooked seafood at those prices. And the wait staff /services need to reflect the brand. Don't just capitalize on location and feel that will keep the customers coming. Really elevate the experience. The positives: were the fizzy drink recommended for my girlfriend. It was delicious and eventful. The creme brulee was excellent. The atmosphere and location.

The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance this Friday night. Inside was buzzing with lively conversation and the bar full to capacity.

The only table available for our reservation was outside on the patio, which thankfully had nice fans keeping us cool. And that’s almost where the good times stopped.

Our server required multiple reminders for simple things like drinks we’d ordered. He also placed dirty side plates in front of two of us. When we handed them back, he didn’t realize they were dirty so we had to ask for replacement plates. This is after the bread service had been on the table for at least 10 minutes with only one plate, for the four of us.

The food pictured was actually delish. Tons of lobster on the Mac n cheese, and very creamy. The snapper was seasoned to perfection and the corn emulsion was the best part of the dish. I would return for both, if I could guarantee my server would be attentive.

I ordered my NY Strip, Oscar style and it arrived naked. So I had to send it back. My friend ordered an 8 oz filet and asked for it medium well, and said it could be filleted if necessary to get the temperature correct. Our server assured us that the cooks are amazing and would get it right. Unfortunately said filet came out bloody in the center. So we sent it back, it came back NO different from the initial presentation AND was the same cut steak…but not filleted. Sent it back ANOTHER time and it was the SAME exact cut steak still not filleted. It was cooked properly at this point but it also had been in and out of the broiler twice at this point.

The manager, Jason, came over after we requested he come over. He was very dismissive and dry when asking about our experience. Our server had already offered to give us a dessert on the house. So at this point the only thing left to do I was remove the steak from bill. Which he did but also offered to properly cook it and pack it to go. Finally some resolve but not before causing us to have a very disjointed experience as we all finished our meals at different times. He then asked us about our experience as a whole and I responded it was ok. He asked, “Just ok?” We all responded yes. And he left it at that.

This was quite a disappointing experience for a first time visit, to this location. We had a different experience in our previous visit at the Miami Beach location. Wish it...

We went to cel rate our anniversary. We had a reservation and checked in early. The hostess was very friendly and polite. She checked us in and we waited for our table. We waited about 15 mins past our time but not a terribly long wait. The restaurant itself just opened and the ambience was amazing. Nice lively crowd but not so loud you have to scream to speak to one another. We sat outside which was very comfortable. Once we sat down our waitress, Mia, greeted us and was extremely professional and friendly. When ordering she took time to explain the menu and make recommendations. Her recommendations were spot on. We started with a dozen west coast oysters. We wanted 6 Rose and Garnets and 6 west but they were out of the R&G. Oysters were great and then we had a bowl of lobster bisque which was very rich and left a hint of spices afterwards. I prefer no spice but it wasn’t too much so it should be perfect for most. Wife had the Chilean sea bass which she loved. She ate the entire dish which was a perfect portion. We ordered the garlic whipped potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. Both tasted great especially the sprouts.

There were a couple of hiccups. First the food took time to get out of the kitchen. We didn’t mind since we were enjoying ourselves but you could see others getting a bit frustrated. It’s a new restaurant so I’ll chalk that up to being new. Plus for a Thursday night it was slammed! I mean not a table open nor a bar seat open. I would never had thought it would have been that packed. I had a regular strip steak. I prefer my steaks very rare and this was more of a med rare. Also having been to steak houses before this one was nothing noteworthy but I wasn’t disappointed. It had good flavor and besides being cooked a couple of minutes too long it was flavorful and worth the value. Besides the wait time and the steak being a bit over cooked everything else was great. We had an amazing evening, the staff is extremely friendly and polite, and the overall experience was great.

Also to note is there is a public garage right across the location which is nice since I prefer to self park rather than valet. They do have a valet service for those that choose. Will definitely...

We had 645 reservations. They sat us down at 6:45. No one came over to us for at least 15 minutes. Finally when somebody came over, we ordered our drinks. When the drinks came, we ordered our salads & appetizers. When The salads came, besides them not knowing which salad went to which person, one person at our table ordered a Caesar salad with extra dressing and it did not come. 10 minutes later the waitress came over, and we had told her that about the Caesar salad. The manager was standing by so we told her about the salad. The manager said that somebody was running up and down the stairs because they forgot something with the salad which was not true but he would check. She never even came back to see if he got the salad. Then I saw another manager, this time and gentleman. I told him about the salad, he said he would check and he never came back. The salad finally came about 15 minutes after I complained. Terrible service. The waitress never came back to refill our drinks, including the sodas. We had to get the busboys to refill them. Meals came, and once again they did not know who ordered which meal so they were putting the meals in front of the wrong person. Steaks were average at best. Next agenda, We ordered dessert. We ordered the butter cake and carrot cake. The only brought the butter cake. When we told she said that she would get it. We just told her forget about it and get us a check, please. Then all of a sudden the carrot cake comes out. We told them forget about it. When the bill came, They didn't even comp the Caesar salad, which they should have since it did not come out on time. They never offered to do anything for us. When you spend over $700.00 on a meal for 6 People you expect a lot more out of a restaurant like that. I would imagine that I probably still would not even hear from the management after this review....
