We attended Sarper’s show at 7:30 PM on Saturday, August 16th, in the Panther Room. We arrived at around 6:50 PM and were seated at a shared table with another couple. The room itself holds around 300 people, set up with small round tables crammed closely together, which made it impossible to move around or even get up to use the restroom once seated.
From the start, the service was terrible. Our waiter, Andrew, took our drink order at about 7:20 PM. We ordered two Cokes and two Topo Chicos, and even handed over our debit card with the order. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 but didn’t begin until 7:45. During the next 46 minutes, we had to ask Andrew three separate times about our drinks. Twice he came back asking us to repeat our order, and on the third time, he told my wife they were out of Topo Chico—something he should have known immediately. She substituted for Coke, and we finally received our drinks at 8:06 PM, nearly an hour after ordering.
When the drinks did arrive, they were in clear plastic cups and already watered down, clearly sitting out for some time. Andrew never checked on us again the rest of the night. Thankfully, we didn’t take the chance of ordering food given the service.
The comedy itself was good—Sarper was fantastic, and the other two comics did a nice job. But the overall experience was ruined by the setup and lack of service. The Panther Room is overcrowded, the waitstaff can’t keep up, and customer service is nowhere near what the club promises on their own website. They talk about giving customers “the best night out” with “outstanding service,” but our reality was the exact opposite.
To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity is automatically added to every check. Under normal circumstances, tipping is earned through good service. Our server did nothing to deserve it, and had it not been mandatory, I would not have left a tip at all.
The only reason I didn’t complain on the spot is because I was grateful to meet and see Sarper and Shekina from 90 Day Fiancé. But as far as Big Laugh Comedy Club goes, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had, and I will think twice before...
Read moreWhat a rip off! And apparently everyone but us knew it. We came to see a well known comic on a Friday night. Five minutes before the show was supposed to start the place was mostly empty. And don't believe anything on the website. It is totally inaccurate. There is NO FOOD unless you want a burned (to the point of crunchy) burger and fries cooked in the oldest oil ever. That's your ONLY choice. Not even any bar snack like nuts, pretzels or popcorn.
I could have been ok with that if the drinks had been any good. My husband and I sat at the bar while waiting for the main room to open for seating. The first drink I asked for they couldn't make and that's ok, not everyone has cold brew or an espresso machine on hand to make an espresso martini. But then I asked for two other more common martinis and was told they couldn't do those either. I then asked what martini they could do and they said "none." So I asked for a drink menu and they don't have one. Two more drink requests later (I promise they were normal cocktails) that they couldn't make and I finally settled on a Moscow mule. Which they brought to me in a disposable plastic whiskey size cup. Not cool guys. And it was terrible! Clearly the bartender was totally inexperienced.
But as my husband and I sat at the bar waiting for the main room to open, he pointed out the bar back. It was only then I noticed that it was practically empty!!! I have never before seen a single line of bottles across the bar back with enough space between them to easily fit in 5-6 more bottles. No wonder they couldn't make anything!
These people MUST be in the process of going under. I don't know how they could have even paid the name talent that flew in from LA to do the show. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one was because the comedian was funny and entertaining. Not their fault they played a...
Read moreI rarely leave bad reviews but this place feels like they opened it too early.
Here are things that need immediate improvement:
1.) I ordered an old fashioned and my wife ordered a lemon drop (super common drinks for a bar) - our server came back after 10 minutes to tell us that they can’t make those. We ordered different drinks and it took about 30 minutes to get them (not exaggerating, and it wasn’t busy. We were one of the first people to arrive.).
2.) Their website states that “…whether it’s lunch or dinner or dinner and a show. You always have a place that is excited to have you, here in Fort Worth.” We planned our evening out around that statement and expected to have dinner there. Nope, kitchen wasn’t operational and, according to the server, wouldn’t be for a few weeks. Coming hungry to a show where you expected to eat something really puts a damper on the evening.
3.) After the show, as the crowd was leaving, we had to find our server in the kitchen area to close our tab. When I asked why he didn’t come around like every other server around us, he said that our table was hard to get to…how is that our problem and how is that a reason not to bring us our check in a timely manner? After he said that - we also realized why he only stopped by our table at the beginning of the show and not again the entire night. Our table consisted of my wife and I and another couple who we did not know. All four of us were shocked at the service. Major retraining recommended.
We’ve been to a bunch of comedy clubs across the country and we’ve never had this kind of experience. This place has potential but needs to close down until the kitchen, bar, and...
