Watch out for the bait and switch and be prepared to be treated terribly. I was hosting three clients to dinner and I decided to order a bottle of Austin Hope Cabernet that was printed on the first page of the wine list where wines by the glass were shown, as well as the bottle price. The Austin Hope Cabernet was $62 and this was the bottle I chose. As I ordered it, I pointed to it and stated that I would like the Austin Hope Cabernet. The server brought the wine, presented it as Austin Hope, and proceeded to open it. Throughout the evening, we ordered another bottle of the same wine. Again, the server presented it as Austin Hope, which is again what I ordered. When the bill arrived, it was $200 more than it should have been and so in looking at the charges, I saw that I was charged $165, per bottle, of Austin Hope cabernet as opposed to $62 per bottle. I questioned it and the server said she would get her manager. I proceeded to tell the manager what I had ordered, and what I was charged, and he said that there was another bottle of Austin Hope Cabernet on the wine list that was $165, and that is what I was being charged for. I told him I did not order that other bottle, but I had ordered the bottle that I pointed out on the first page of the wine menu. He started to argued with me, and said his hands were tied, there was nothing he could do because we drank the wine. He then pointed to the menu and said that I had ordered it off of the wines by the glass page. I continued to tell him that yes, that is correct, because the bottle price was also printed on the same page. And that is the bottle that I chose. When I asked for his name, he said it was Jeff, when I asked for his last name, he refused to give it to me. It was not until I started to write down information that he blurted out his last name, which was Gregory. During this entire exchange, while I was disputing the charges, the server took my card and charged my corporate American Express the INCORRECT full amount. I was in shock. I made it very clear to him that I am not a wine sommelier, and how would I know that they had a different bottle that was presented to me with the same label? and consumed at the table with the same label of the bottle that I chose. How in the world would I know such a thing. I'm no sommelier, so when this bottle was presented, I had no idea that there was another bottle, with the same label but a different year. After all, the bottle that I chose, didn’t even show a year on the wine list page where I chose the wine!! This is FRAUD. The manager, Jeff Gregory, copped a lot of attitude and was absolutely the rudest person I have ever met. I have never been treated so horribly in an establishment. I am actually in so much shock about what happened. With this caliber of a brand, I would NEVER expect this behavior or treatment. Make sure you double check your bill. Or better yet, go to Whataburger!🤭 I spoke with another manager the following day, who gave me his direct supervisor’s name at Landry’s. Let’s see if they do...
Read moreCame here with my girlfriend for our anniversary and it was not what we expected from a higher end restaurant. We meant to book the Double Eagle, but I’m sure that would also have been disappointing. First, I order a passionfruit martini and our server immediately tells me that it’s a “girly drink” and I could get an Old Fashioned. Like what? Then my girlfriend wanted the grilled Mahi, unfortunately they were out. We understand things happen. He then suggests salmon, which my girlfriend was seemingly not interested in and the server lets her know that is also seafood. Like..? She knows it is seafood, salmon is not an unheard of thing 💀 After that mansplaining, the bread comes out. They serve pretzel bread? Not what I was expecting… and why would pretzel bread come with a very sweet butter? Not a great flavor pallet in my opinion, but obviously I could be in the minority here and that is just my thoughts! Now at this point our server has already made my girlfriend feel stupid and has annoyed me with the comment on my “girly” drink and for the mansplaining. Some how even worse was the food… I have posted a picture, but my steak frites was BATHED in oil. I have NEVER had a steak frites that was served in so much oil. There was enough oil in the plate for the US to invade, like jesus… It made the fries inedible as they were soaked in oil and I honestly couldnt bare through the steak with how much oil I had already ingested. I will say the chimichurri was fine and the steak was cooked at the right temperature though! Now onto my girlfriend, who ended up getting a shaved steak sandwich. On the menu it says you can upgrade to a premium side and I kept pushing that we could for an upcharge and he flat out refused. So she got the sweet potato fries and added on some asparagus which she really wanted. The sweet potato fries were good, especially dipped in the horseradish sauce the sandwich was served with. My girlfriend also enjoyed the asparagus which I was happy about as she was craving grilled asparagus. Now the sandwich… that thing was so salty, and again, I have had my fair share of steak sandwiches and have no clue why it came that salty. Like that cannot be normal. On top of this it was mentioned it was our anniversary and nothing special was done, but for another table I noticed there was. That just seemed odd to me, but honestly could care less for some free stuff from this place. Just most nice places I go to for big events go that extra step to please customers and keep us coming back.
TLDR: I would not recommend this place as service was poor and rude and the food was well below average for the price. A lot of better steakhouses to go to that have excellent service and amazing food. Most steakhouses know that when you have a high cost to your menu, the food and service...
Read moreI made a reservation for my mother and I at Del Frisco’s for Easter brunch. We were the first customers in the restaurant and were told we could not be seated as the restaurant was “fully booked” for the holiday (despite the upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating being COMPLETELY EMPTY). We reiterated that we had a reservation. The hostess looked upset and spent about 3 minutes typing in the computer and finally told us our reservation was for the Double Eagle location on the other side of downtown. We asked if we could dine in the Grille location instead as the restaurant was still completely empty and there was no one else waiting to be seated. Also, since the Grille location doesn’t have valet, we had already parked in a garage (per their suggestion when I called ahead) and walked to them and I didn’t want to have my elderly mother walk further in the cold. We were told again, the place was fully booked and we could not be accommodated. I pointed out that the restuarant was totally unoccupied and that we wouldn’t take long to enjoy our Easter brunch. We could eat quickly and surely be out before their very large, very vacant restaurant filled up. Again, we were refused service. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing and as an African American, was deeply disturbed for my mother and I to be treated this way on Easter Day in 2022. The host and servers told us again that the other location was “just a block away” and “just a short walk” as they ushered us to the door. Allow me to reiterate - we were turned away despite there being the only potential customers at the Grille and an abundance of waitstaff. We made what turned out to be a very long walk to the Double Eagle location and were seated upstairs, in a freezing backroom near the toilets.
We sat down and asked ourselves - Did we time travel to an era where “whites only” signs were the norm in downtown Fort Worth? Why couldn’t we be served in an empty restaurant? Why would the hostess treat us like a gross inconvenience when her job is to host and accommodate customers? The manager of the Del Frisco’s Grille needs to re-evaluate and redesign their hospitality methods. I have been a Del Frisco’s customer my entire life and will never return to either Fort Worth location after our treatment this Sunday.
However, I will say our server Brandon at the Double Eagle did a nice job and turned on the fireplace for us to keep us from freezing in the secluded room we were seated in near...
