What a pleasant little bar, right on the square in the middle of town! A few tables inside, and a spacious patio/beer garden outside. Live music on the weekends. It is primarily a taproom, but they do have hot snacky bites available as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and both drinks and food were ready in good time. Was busy, but not packed at about 5 on a Saturday night. Ordered a cider flight (which are fully customizable), pierogies, and a masala hand pie (fillings are constantly changing, and listed on a specials board inside). The cider was excellent, with a number of unique varieties. The pierogies and pie were prepared quite well, though not their own and not made onsite.

We stopped in on a Friday evening for live music and a drink. We each had just one cider and didn’t order any food. The cider was good. I don’t remember which ones we had but one was a dry barrel aged and one was peach. The music was outside in the square so we sat outside - the band was good but you have to sit back closer to the building because of county or state alcohol laws limit open container in public I think. The outdoor seating area was nice tho. If you like cider and are visiting Gettysburg stop in.

I'm a huge fan of cider, so we thought we would stop in to see what they had. They have six different ciders, and each flavor was sold in a four-pack. So we asked if we could get a variety pack. The crew behind the bar was very accommodating to our request. We left with two variety six-packs. But to be honest, I’m not a massive fan of their ciders. We love dry ciders, but these are all kind of bland and didn’t have much of a great flavor.

We arrived in Gettysburg around 1000 on a Saturday night in search of something to eat before finding a hotel. Most restaurants were closed and we were happy to find this gem of a spot. We had two kinds of fresh pasties, cheese and onion and chickpea curry; both were amazing. We then shared a salad (they only have one salad) and it was absolutely, deliciously amazing. We finished our meal with a berry pie. We were also given a sample of one of the ciders. We requested Sprite to drink and were told they didn't have it, but the fantastic manager made us one from ingredients he had in the bar with fresh lemon and lime (among other ingredients). The manager said this was his last night at the taproom and I'm sure many guests will miss him as he was the best host we couldn't asked for! Thank you for a great meal and an even...

This place specializes in dry cider. We love and prefer dry cider, so it was a perfect fit. They offer a variety to choose from, and they encouraged us to taste ones before committing to a glass of it, so that was very nice. Inside is small, but there's some seating outside too. Food offerings are sub-par, so eat before you come. They offer some food to appease PA liquor laws, but it's just some frozen stuff put into a toaster oven and that's it. They don't have a kitchen. So you don't come here for food, you come here for unique and delicious cider. The bar tender was friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the ciders. Prices were average for the area. Nice spot for...

Great location right on the square in Gettysburg! Nice little barroom with a well-curated range of excellent Pennsylvania beers, wines, and spirits, and of course, Ploughman's exceptional ciders (as well as other great PA ciders). Food is simple but well-made. Outdoor seating is in a mix of shade and sun, and service is great, indoors and out. It needs to be noted: these are not sweet, fizzy ciders, they are much drier and more traditional, made from a blend of cider apples, not culinary apples. If that's what you like, you'll love this. If you don't know about this type of cider, there is no better place to learn! Caveat: I was here at the invitation of the owner to give a talk on...
