Poor quality and rude service.
As you walk in you are instructed to come back and order at the counter, which was fine. However after ordering at the counter we were to pay and tip before receiving the food. as the food arrived to our table we were extremely disappointed. the rolls were all rice and contained little to no fish. for the price that is ridiculous! the shrimp tempura was disappointing as it has no shrimp inside. all breading. once we addressed the issue with the employee he showed us the product form the fridge and explained that it was just how it was. the crab roll was inedible and full of shells. we were told by the employee he planned to refund us for the roll before we had even mentioned it to him. which was odd as we had already paid and he had not said anything to us. The nigiri was fishy and awful, also full of bones in every bite. as locals we really wanted to love this place! however the restaurant was dirty, the food was not edible, and the staff were rude and unwilling to come to a compromise. not to mention the restaurant was particularly dirty.
as we were talking at the counter about our experience the employee was handing money with his bare hands, grabbing product from the fridge to show us the premade shrimp tempura they use in the rolls all while saying he “needed to go make sushi” we then saw him begin to construct rolls without washing his hands. i would say to try the ramen but the restaurant was filthy, i would not trust the kitchen. after our dining experience we were not offered refunds even though he had planned to refund the crab roll apparently. he employee picked our leftover eaten food off of our plate shows us that we ate it, then without washing his hands went back to making orders for...
Read moreHorrible customer service, maybe the worst I've ever experienced. I don't usually write reviews, and if I ever do they're usually short and positive, but this place earned another 1 star from me today and the following rant because they were awful. The food was alright, nothing special, and certainly not worth having to deal with the employees, one guy in particular. And look I get that there's a language barrier, I get that they were slammed, I get that times are tough for staffing service employees, but none of that is an excuse for how the guy in there talks to customers.
I was just trying to order some takeout and this guy wants to bark at me about using the app, then 4 dine-in customers came in behind me and he tells me my order will take longer because "we prioritize serving dine-in customers." Buddy I'm standing here trying to give you money for food, and you argue with me and push my order back behind the people who came in after me? I almost just walked out.
This is why you have FRONT of house people and BACK of house people, you get someone who can speak politely to your customers and you keep people like that guy as far away in the back as possible.
The only reason I went here is because Issei Noodle was closed. Don't give your money to this place, they...
Read moreThis ain't it, chief. We won't be coming back. Came here for lunch today. Fiance and I were pretty excited as we recently moved here from the Bay Area and are ramen lovers. That being said this place was disappointing. Wish we had the experience other reviewers seemed to have had. Customer service was lacking. Felt like we were bothering them being there, it was cold and uninviting. There's also no real ambiance to speak of; No music, resulting in a cold, dead silence, aside from the slurping noises and clinking of dishes from other patrons... Felt like we had to whisper. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Ramen wasn't good. We could hear a MICROWAVE going off before we received our ramen (we ordered the chashu), which tasted exactly like Maruchan Beef flavored instant ramen. Greens in the ramen were limp and gross (like when you microwave them...), noodles were exactly like what you'd get from an instant ramen pack. Probably because it was. We ordered some sushi dishes which were okay and seemed fresh, but there are way better local places to get sushi from.
Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and would suggest you just get some instant ramen instead if you're considering coming here. I really wish I could have given a better review, but...
