My husband and I stopped in for a quick breakfast before one of the local tours. We got a selection of breakfast pastries, the apple tart was by far the best! The cinnamon raisin twist was a little more bread like texture than I was expecting but still tasted ok. I did not like the chocolate croissant at all because it was so dry and flakey, didn’t have much of a taste to the pastry itself and the chocolate was so minimal and tasted almost bitter, the inside only had one line about the diameter of a pencil of chocolate. It was too messy to eat. After the tour we decided to go back and grab a sandwich for lunch. I had the pesto panini. It was quite greasy on the bottom but tasted OK, I got a side of the couscous and it was quite dry and lacking in flavor. My husband got the ham and cheese on a croissant with potato salad and he enjoyed both of those menu items. It took a little longer to get our lunch items because they were made fresh after ordering. I also thought the prices were a little high. $4.25 each for the morning pastries and $9.25 each for the lunch sandwich. The building itself was very hard to find. Read moreWe got the Friends of Gettysburg membership and this was one of the vendors that offered something for the members. Without the membership I wouldn’t have even known about the bakery. I told her I came the other day. She said then rudely said I get ask and just say yes. She seemed like it bothered her to honor her commitment. I would have given one star for the second experience but gave 2 since the girls the first time were so nice. However since I now know the owner is so rude I will not...

Wife and I bought a couple of items, when someone behind the counter --- presumably the owner --- sharply reprimanded my wife for lifting the lid to a glass cookie jar with no intention of touching anything inside the container. The counter-woman/employee/owner, could have politely addressed whatever her concern was in a courteous way instead of rudely snapping at my wife, who was extremely offended. I did not see what was going on, since I was steps away and looking to buy something else. Had I seen this, I would have given the rude woman behind the counter a lesson in politeness and tactful response in addressing customers. I have been a customer of the bakery since it opened, but NO MORE ! No excuse...
