I’ve wanted this place to be my go to spot for so long now but at this point I’ve just given up. We’ve been here about 15 times since Oct 2024 and it’s basically the same issues every single time.
We sit at the bar and it takes what seems like 5-10 mins to get a drink order in, even if we’re the only two sitting there. One of the bartenders, Ashley, is pretty nice, but the other bartender, whose name we’ve never gotten, gives you these looks like she wants to strangle you for even stepping in the building. The cocktails aren’t bad at all, but if you want to get a beer or god forbid a Guinness, don’t expect a full or even halfway decent pour from either one of them. We saw a server bringing a beer back from the dining area and tell the bartender that the customer wanted their awfully poured beer topped off - bartender proceeds to roll her eyes, grab a stirring spoon and stir up the beer till it reached the brim. I’ve worked in food service so I would have plenty of sympathy for them if it was an unruly request, but it wasn’t, and they seem like they go out of their way to do a poor job in just about every aspect of their work. Just look at the Guinness in the picture - this was on st pattys day too. They were bragging about how well they pour it one of the first times I went in, and this is what it comes out like every single time. The worst pour I’ve ever had in any scenario, including at home out of the can. They’re the only place in town that keeps Guinness on tap and they bring complete shame to it with every pint poured - actually half pint since most of it is head. I wish they’d just stop serving it honestly, or at least let me hop behind the bar and pour it myself. The same goes for any other beer you’ll try to order here, at least 30% head every time.
The food is decent, but god help you if you send it back for being lukewarm, which it was 4 out 7 times. We’ve seen other plates come back looking like they put it in the microwave for 20 minutes, and heard people complaining about how scorching hot it is. We’ve never had the balls to do it based on those reactions.
I don’t usually go off like this, and feel slightly bad about doing it because they do seem like nice people outside of work, but it truly feels like 80% of the staff are out to provide the worst service possible so that nobody shows up during their shift. The place is 10% full 90% of the time, and for good reason. I have no idea how they continue to operate, but I’m guessing they’ll go under relatively soon. I’ve never seen a spot with so much potential waste away their opportunity like this with mistakes that are so incredibly easy to fix. They could literally turn it around tomorrow, and I hope they do, but I don’t think I’ll be back to find out. Hope to hear good news in the future from people braver than me that continue to cross...
Read morePlease, disregard my last review. This place has gone down hill very quickly. Once my favorite restaurant in town, now a place I’ll recommend to no one. Really, I’ll advise people to avoid this place. From the slow wait times, gross food, to the incredibly poor service. Don’t let the wait staff near a fork! They’ll stab you out of spite, solely by existing.

A True Wild West Delight - Juicy Lucy's Hits Every Bullseye! Juicy Lucy's is a rare gem with a rustic Western charm that completely stole our hearts. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this was no ordinary steakhouse.
The service was simply outstanding - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The staff made us feel like honored guests, ensuring every need was met with a smile. Their genuine warmth added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
The Western-themed decor transported us to a bygone era, creating an atmosphere that was both inviting and authentic. It definitely fit the bill for Glenwood Springs. Every detail, from the rugged wood accents to the carefully chosen artifacts, added to the charm. It was a dining experience that felt like a journey through time, while being equally as modern.
The cocktails were a revelation. Expertly mixed and bursting with flavor, each sip was a testament to the skilled bartenders behind the bar. They perfectly complemented our meal, turning it into a true culinary adventure.
The sea scallops were a masterpiece of culinary artistry. Cooked to perfection, they were tender, succulent, and left us craving for more. The steak was equally impressive, a juicy and flavorful delight that showcased the expertise of the kitchen.
The portobello "pancakes" were a delightful surprise, showcasing the chef's creativity and ability to surprise and delight the palate. They added a unique twist to our dining experience, leaving us eager to explore more of the menu. Don’t even get me started on the presentation of the raw oysters on the half shell… delish!
Even on a bustling Friday evening, Juicy Lucy's managed to seat our party of 8 within 20 minutes. Their efficiency and seamless operation in the midst of a busy night were truly commendable.
In summary, Juicy Lucy's is a true standout in the world of steakhouses. The combination of impeccable service, captivating Western ambiance, exceptional cocktails, and culinary masterpieces like the sea scallops and steak make this establishment a must-visit. We came up from Denver and decided we needed to indulge in some local steak. We have a few ok steakhouses and one amazing one so there had to be one here. When I searched two showed up this one and the one next door we were torn at visiting. Ultimately one item brought us here.
After entering we followed a very loud crying child. I made the off hand comment that hopefully we are seated as far away from the kid as possible and the hostess did just that. She originally planned to put us next to them. That said, I'm a parent of two and constantly take my kids to restaurants. Neither has EVER started screaming in the restaurant. If they did they'd never be allowed out with us again. This kid seemed like he was three or four.
Anyway we were seated and my wife ordered an aviation (drink). This was the only reason we came here because it was on their menu. I chose to drive and just drank water.
I ordered the New York Strip and my wife ordered the Sirloin kabob. She asked for medium and I asked for medium rare.
While we waited we were treated to some stale bread that was incredibly small. Like it was crushed.
When the meals came, my steak was clearly rare and hers even more so. I don't know what you call less than rare, but hers was it. I guess when they call it Juicy Lucy's they mean it's juicy because it just got cut from the cow in the back.
We showed our purple steaks to the waiter who returned my wife's which was clearly not at all medium to the kitchen. He didn't take mine back. He later came back with overdone kebob chunks and commented on how he should have taken mine when he saw how rare it was.
Anyway, we finished our meal and the check came to $88. For two steaks (really one and a kabob) plus one drink, if you're going to charge $88 you better do it well. Last time I paid over $35 for a steak it was amazing (Steakhouse 10 in Littleton).
Would I go back? No. I've never eaten such a rare steak before and it just wasn't worth the wait or cost. They made a mean aviation and made it my wife's favorite drink ever. But the food, not so much.
I think if you go, you're in for a hit or miss meal. I suggest ordering on the more well done side than not. Unless you're good with your steak still mooing. Make no mistake I would normally give this a one star if not for that drink. Attached is a photo...
