Five Stars is Not Enough for Zig Zag Restaurant!

If I could give Zig Zag in Greenwood Village ten stars, I would. This extraordinary family-owned gem delivers an experience so rare and wonderful, it completely redefines what a night out can be. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed into an atmosphere that is the perfect blend of classy sophistication and comfort that feels like home.

The food? Absolutely unreal. Every dish on the menu is a masterpiece of creativity and craftsmanship, flawlessly executed by the husband-owner who is not just the executive chef, but a culinary genius. Each plate that comes out of the kitchen is bursting with bold, inventive flavors that somehow feel both thrillingly new and instantly nostalgic. Whether you’re trying a small plate or a main course, you can taste the passion and artistry behind every bite.

The cocktails are equally mind-blowing. Zig Zag’s bar menu is a destination in itself — inventive, balanced, and crafted with the kind of love and precision you only find in world-class establishments. These are not your average cocktails; these are experiences in a glass.

What truly sets Zig Zag apart, however, is the heart behind it. The owners — the husband-and-wife duo — make it a point to personally greet every table, and their warmth is genuinely unforgettable. The wife, the restaurant’s brand ambassador, makes you feel like you’re an old family friend from the second you walk in. Her grace and welcoming spirit are the soul of the place. Their passion radiates through the entire staff, creating a vibe that is both elegant and sincerely joyful.

Speaking of the staff, Aaron, our waiter, deserves special recognition. World-class service doesn’t even begin to cover it. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being overbearing, and truly invested in making the night magical — Aaron made an incredible meal even better.

Zig Zag is not just a restaurant. It’s a celebration of food, family, creativity, and community. It’s the kind of place you find once in a lifetime — and once you do, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Do yourself a favor: run, don’t walk, to Zig Zag. It will absolutely blow...

I first discovered Zig Zag Smokin' Burger and the Meatball Eatery two years ago while working in Colorado, and it has quickly become a must-eat destination for me. Since returning to the Denver area, I’ve been eating there at least three or four times a week over the past month, and each visit has been a delight. You would be hard-pressed to find anything on their menu that isn't a gastronomic delight. Their lamb burger and goat cheese sub are particular standouts, both bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The tomato soup is phenomenal, offering a rich and comforting taste. Equally impressive is the penne, which is excellently prepared, and the risotto, which achieves perfection. The meatballs are another highlight, wonderfully seasoned and cooked.Their beet salad is a flavor explosion, with candied walnuts, goat cheese, and slightly roasted beets combining to create a memorable dish. The ahi sashimi, served with hoisin ginger sauce, is a must-try, offering a fresh and vibrant taste that is simply perfection. The in-house made root beer, which contains real sarsaparilla and about 18 other ingredients, is one of the best I've ever had. Their cocktails, especially the Back Outcide and the Bee Sting, are crafted to perfection by their talented mixologists, adding to the overall experience. The staff at Zig Zag Smokin' Burger are friendly, gregarious, and always provide great conversation. Their warm and welcoming demeanor makes each visit special. All the ingredients are fresh and well-curated, contributing to the high-quality dining experience.Overall, Zig Zag Smokin' Burger is hands down one of the best restaurants in Denver. If you find yourself in the area, it’s a must-visit spot that promises an exceptional culinary experience. I'm already looking forward to...

Grant was our server. Asked us what we wanted. Never asked if we would like something to drink after we placed our food order. Ordered a burger and a patty melt which I asked to be well done with no grilled onions. The food came out very fast which is always a concern. Do they really make the burgers fresh or are they pre made and then slapped on the grill. A well done burger should not come out so fast. Sure enough the patty melt had onions. I felt like Grant really did not pay attention to my order. He placed another order for a patty melt without onions and I said please make sure it is well done. Again the re order came out within five minutes and was not cooked like I asked. Which a well done hamburger patty takes longer than five minutes to be well done. So I say gotta be pre made burgers. Grant never asked my son if he wanted a refill on his Dr Pepper which we had to ask for during our meal as Grant never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. After we were done eating Grant never asked us if we wanted anything else like desert. Not good service especially since our order was wrong. That was the worse service I had in a very long time. Music was way to loud to have a conversation with my son. The burger and patty melt tasted awful again made me think the burger was pre made our something. After we got back home both of us felt sick with a stomach ache. Again I say the food came out way to fast. I have not ever been to another burger restaurant we’re the burgers came out within 5 or so minutes. Just tasted very bad and pre made. Will never recommend this place or every come back. Big waste of my money for bad service and awful tasting food that made two...

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. I believe the food we ate was alright, but didn't meet my expectations. I had been wanting a great burger for awhile. The burger I got may have missed the mark for me, however I can appreciate the food that they are making here. To start we had the Brussel spouts 8.5/10 and the Crispy Shrimp 7.8/10. The shrimp were pretty good, however the sauce was a little sweet for me. The avocado sauce that came with the shrimp was very good. The shrimp were a little greasy and became soggy as they cooled down, however that's to be expected when food is fried. I started with a wedge salad 9/10, great sized portion with lots of toppings. The burgers, were the reason we were there and they were a little of a let down. I had the lamb burger with a side of broccoli 6.8/10. The burger was a little over cooked, had decent flavor and came with a curry dipping sauce that was just alright. The bun was a total let down, it tasted stale and would have been great if they did a better job warming it up. My friend got the spicy green chilie burger, it was alright, not anything worth running back for 6/10, probably got a few more points because the green chilie was good. The fries are not really worth it at all, no seasoning 3/10. I believe that you can find better burgers in the city. Maybe I will be back one day to try this place out, but I am not running back right away. An upscale burger spot that I wish was better than it is. The service was excellent - our server was friendly and attentive. This place has a great atmosphere and I felt comfortable being here. You will not be disappointed here. I will be back again soon to sample more of the menu.

Ohh what a treat it was to walk into this “hidden gem”, and “best kept secret”. Me and my husband was driving from Denver airport to Colorado Springs and hadn’t eaten since early morning because of flight schedule from Texas. This place was beyond amazing. Our waiter was Wylson and he was phenomenal. Wylson was cheerful, accommodating, explained menu’s including some of his favorites when asked, and introduced me to a new drink: zig zag zombie….ok so word to the wise this drink is not for the “faint of heart”. I took a video of this amazing drink but did not get approval to share so you will just have to go in and try it for yourself. One of the restaurant cook and server was Brook, and he was so very friendly. I think I will let the pics and short video of the food and drink speak for itself. I also loved loved the ambiance of the hotel. I even mentioned it would be a great place for some live jazz to be played. I love that this is like two restaurants in one, but you can sit on either side and have access to both menus. Oh yeah and the bathrooms were immaculate. This is a huge pet peeve for me, because if I walk into an establishment and their bathrooms are nasty I will walk right back out, because if this is any indication of how they keep their kitchen, I am better off leaving. Thank you, Zig Zag and staff, for making our time spent there memorable. Whenever we are in that part of CO again, we will definitely be return patrons.

Have been to Zig Zag a couple of times and I like how it’s the kind of place where one can walk in dressed casually and or a suit and tie, with friends, coworkers, or family. The staff has always been welcoming and one of the owners has always been there to greet guests and/or to ask how the food and service was. It’s the type of place that can fill up, yet there always seems to be seating and it’s not crammed like other restaurants - there’s actually comfortable spacing between tables and booths. The important part - the food, it’s delicious and there’s a lot of options. I can speak for the patty melt, the house balls, and crispy chicken. Only feed back on the patty melt is that it’s heavy on breading and the round meat patty isn’t proportioned appropriately; however, it’s really tasty. The house balls are awesome and customization options almost unlimited - really have to try the Mac and cheese with Alfredo sauce, Italian pork balls, and jalapeños as a topping (I never order Mac and cheese; but loved this plate). We also tried their Zig Zag soda last time we were in, and it was pretty good, I liked the cherry lime; but my gf and mom swore orange cream was the best. Also shoutout to Nila, who’s been our waitress the last couple of times - she’s been so helpful and patient in making recommendations based on what she’s actually tried.
