Walked over from Two Headed Dog to this place to get food. Surprisingly, Houston heat wasn’t unbearable and there was a breeze so the short walk was very pleasant. Winnie’s was recommended to our group by some other people we met at Two Headed Dog so I was expecting tasty food and was not disappointed. When our group of 5 walked in, it was seat yourself and we found a table immediately. Our waiter acknowledged us fairly quickly and gave us sufficient time to peruse the menu. I liked the fact they had a variety of choices: anything from fried pickles and nachos to oysters and burgers! I chose to get the fried pickles and the lemon pepper wings! Both were FIRE! The food came out hot and fresh! Had to wait for it to cool off before really digging in! My lemon pepper wings had just the right amount of seasoning, the chicken was juicy, I had an equal number of flats & drums, and the pieces were a perfect size. Not freakishly large and not painfully small. The fried pickles had a zesty fresh flavor and were very lightly battered which I prefer! To me, it allows the actual flavor of the pickle to shine when it’s not overly battered. My friends ordered Buffalo wings, cheeseburger, and shrimp po boy. I didn’t hear any complaints and everyone commented on how hot and fresh their food was. I didn’t order an alcoholic beverage because we had just left Two Headed Dog, but I took a picture of the frozen drink one of my friends had and tasted it. It was light and refreshing. Sweet. So if you’re not fond of sweet, you may not want to order it. Only reason I’m giving a 4 star instead of 5 is I found our waiter to be kind of short and no nonsense. He wasn’t really friendly per se. It felt like “what do you want? How are you paying? And I need your card now.” I did enjoy the promptness of his service. Our group was in and out in less than an hour. Try Winnie’s! You won’t regret it! I’ll be back to try some other food choices and the drinks!

DISHONEST AND SHAMEFUL. I’m going to try to make this as short as possible. I saw an influencer post this place on their Instagram page it looked nice, so I wanted to visit. On Wednesday my friend, her mother and I all went to visit. I live about 30 miles away and my friend about 40 miles away however my friend felt her mother would love to see this place, so we drove down there in separate cars. We arrive and the first thing the hostess does is give my friend and her mother a weird look. At the time I brushed it off, but it didn’t feel good. Then she asks do we have a reservation. When we say no, and she immediately said they were fully booked. She then spoke to an older lady, that was walking towards her in the reception area, who immediately also told us they were full. She didn’t say, hold on let me see if anything has cleared, she just had this condescending “we are so sorry smile” on her face. As she is telling us this, we can see that there are open table all over this place and at the bar. We were parked at the lot behind the location. My friend and her mom leave the parking lot and I start to drive away, and I to call the place because I just didn’t feel right. I tell the person on the phone that I had drove down yesterday and they were closed for a private party, and I wanted to know if they were open today and had any space available now. She said they were full but asked me how many people in the party, which I told her 4. She said that she had a sofa available for right now. I said to her, really? That is so interesting as I was just there and was told there was nothing available. She said she was sorry that it was not her that told me that. She was in the back and had just cleared that sofa. She told me to come back but I said it was already too late since we had already driven away. I also told her that it was wrong what the other 2 ladies did to us. It was disgusting and I will never give my money to their establishment. To be fair the lady who answer the phone did apologize and was trying to fix the situation. However how can you go to a place where you are clearly not wanted and would treats you that way? What kind of treatment would you expect to get at that place? Why would I want to spend my money at their place? Those 2 ladies should be ashamed of themselves but they probably will not and don't really care because I can see in the reviews that other customers have experience ...

A little hipster sandwich spot that I use to frequent for lunch breaks, and will never return due to rude service and poor management. The new term hipster makes way for rude non black people with snarky personalities, tribal gaged, ear, loops, neck, and face, tattoos displaying, minimal personality, and a lack of customer service friendliness and poor service to have a trendy name to hide behind and make it more appealing to eat by the people they’re serving their snarky rude attitude to you. I’m a business professional that works close to this business and received extremely rude service from the manager/waiter on service telling me and I guest we can leave when we just arrived and I was walking to meet her at the table. I told him what is his problem and picked up my and told him he was being rude that I come here all the time and I don’t expect treatment to be treated this way after work so I left . When I called to complain the same person answer. The phone told me he was the manager. He lied and said that he did not ask me to leave. He did not apologize for his behavior or his treatment towards me and he actually gave me an excuse that he removed a homeless person from the restaurant and was dealing with her, so maybe some of the energy came to me. No apology just an excuse after embarrassing me and my company that I brought to this place of business to enjoy ourselves and was treated with this behavior instead why spend your money hipster place or not if people will treat you this way do not be fooled by Cajun flair … don’t look like they came anywhere from that direction. I’m so flabbergasted by that experience that I will never spend my money in this place, I remove the flyers that I created for a crawfish season out of my move-in folders, and I will no longer recommend any of my 319 residence to this place of business. I will frowned upon it since this is how management handles their business. You can get a good shaking daiquiri anywhere...

Was really excited to try Winnie’s out but sadly had a disappointing experience. Visited for HH & specifically to try out the burgers for $5 after 5pm Monday night. Arrived around 4:50 ordered the peach bourbon tea icee, old fashioned & the chargrilled oysters. We let our waiter know we wanted to get burgers as well & asked which ones were $5, he said all 3. We wanted to wait to receive our drinks & oysters before placing our entree orders. Once received our waiter came back & asked to take our menus, not how are the drinks or how are the oysters just to have the menus back. Now this would have been understandable if it was busy but there was practically no one there. We gave him the menus & told him we’d like to order more food. He went to put the menus away the came back to take our order. We ordered the shrimp Po’boy, a basket of fries & the Rodeo burger. We originally ordered the double Winn-a-burger but our waiter said the double was not $5 only the single. Disappointing but not a big deal because the other options looked great as well & we also planned to share so we wanted to make sure it was enough food It was nice that both sandwiches came cut in half since we were sharing & the fries were delicious! The next time we spoke to our waiter was to get the check, he asked us to review it to make sure everything was correct, my husband said everything but the burger & the waiters reply was, “oh no it’s only the winn-a-burger that’s $5” Imagine my surprise when this was one of the first things we asked when we sat down. Overall the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. Food was ok/good and the atmosphere was cool, but the service was a big let down. Sat there practically our entire time wishing we had a different waiter because everyone else’s service just looked a lot more enjoyable. & the one interaction we had w/ another waiter was super pleasant he just simply stopped by to drop off some of our food & it was a totally...
