Holy Ursa Major mother of cubs! May this review be a North Star for the curious customer. My girlfriend and I got the avocado and cucumber rolls to taste the rice and seaweed before committing to their fish. My first bite was delightful, like swimming above a deep sea of kelp (⭐). But the rest of the meal reminded me of the experience a large brown bear 🐻 may have when finding a dying giant deep sea squid 🐙 on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Loud flavors resulting from the synergy between aromatic seaweed 😵💫 and rice that was fluffy and sticky at the same time, a little like drying paint 🫤! I don't like it. We tasted four sauces for the sushi and was reminded more of a pack of wolves 🐺🐺🐺🐺tearing at a the hide of a frozen elk on the elk refuge I saw through binoculars this winter at the Museum of Wildlife Art, or the hide of a deer 🦌 carcass destroyed by maggots 🦟🐦 on the highway feeding the magpies in our beautiful ecosystem. The nicest thing I would care to say about it, is that the taste could be construed as wet tea leaves with sweet, colorful, umami candy. Or maybe a doctored pint of non alchoholic Guinness. They have a nice selection of tea and candy. Side note, I was homeless subsisting on garbage on the town square here in Jackson Hole for two years, and the only time I felt sick was after eating sushi out of this restaurants dumpster. I thought the food would taste better a couple years later. Lots of talent here if that's what they're going for (unique, ⭐ one more star), I couldn't make food taste like that, but there's room for improvement everyday with all forms of food artistry #Jirodreamsofsushi. I for one like delicat 😋 flavors in my sushi, and plan on taking my business to Smiths or a different restaurant next time I fancy sushi. Great selection of beverages, glad they had Diet Pepsi and water. Bright colors, mostly pleasant decor and goodies in the shop gave me the impression it would be a nice place to eat. I warned my entire family to stay away from this place. We've lived here more than thirty years and know that restaurants that make people feel like this pass and cease to be a burden on the mind. Do better. There's better chef craft elsewhere to learn from. Great location for sushi, hope the food changes. A lot. Maybe because of...
Read morecame in the other day for dinner after traveling. the first thing my boyfriend and i noticed were the slightly more expensive prices but we expected generous portions so we decided to share three sushi rolls and an miso soup. i cant tell you how shocked we were when three tiny sushi rolls and a slightly tasteless miso soup came out. we were so disappointed, the sushi rolls on the menu looked big compared to the ones that were served to us. it was all served on little plastic trays, not even a plate. on top of that, we still had to buss our own table and we couldn’t even get a glass of water to drink (you have to buy water if you want something to drink). the worst part was that we really payed over $70 for this dining experience, when we could’ve spent $40 on sushi elsewhere and gotten better portions and better service. the place didn’t even have bathrooms. i wouldn’t have complained if our total came out to $30 or something, but the prices are outrageous compared to what you’re ACTUALLY getting.
i’m sure that there’s better priced items on the menu that are worth the money, but this was extremely disappointing. at least offer your customers a free cup of water if you’re going to charge them over $70 for three tiny sushi rolls and...
Read moreWe ordered the Poke Bowls and they were superb!!! The tuna and salmon were very fresh and not to mention the crispy fresh veggies! Tasted great on a warm summer day! We met the owner Stefanos, who asked us to call him Stephan. I have to say that he was an extremely pleasant, kind, and funny man! We had a great conversation with him. I also drank a Japanese white peach drink that was super delicious!! We also bought some chocolate that I had only had once about 10 years from Japan, I was happy to see it! If I lived in Jackson I'd probably go broke eating here everyday - that's how good the food was. If you're looking for some delicious Poke Bowls or Sushi, I highly...
