I wish i could right a book about how amazing of a cafe this place is.
Ive tried the Sana'ani and adeni coffees, lattes and chais. Divine to say the least
Ive tried the Saffron, Rose and Pistachio Milk cakes. Any tres leches on the east side pales in comparison to these.
Today i have tried the pistachio cheesecake and I honestly wanted to cry tears of joy. I think if Julia Child had to rate the desserts it would get flying colors and she probably would be inspired to make a cookbook based of their desserts and pastries.
The atmosphere is very chill. I have been here from early morning to mid day to close. Obviously this is hollywood. Homeless people are going to wander into businesses but it happens very rarely here.
The choice music is perfect to work to, its upbeat and as someone who isnt fluent in arabic, its not distracting.
The wifi here is always super fast. There are about six outlets, two plugs each. It would be cool to have them at the other couches but its not really a big deal because so far not many people have caught on in the neighborhood that is this a perfect for late night work stuff when no other cafe is open. Read moreCame here to try the matcha and it was honestly gross tasted like straight-up water. I told the worker politely that I didn’t like it, and instead of just offering a solution, she went to get (what I assume was) the owner. He came over clearly upset and got defensive immediately. I explained again that it tasted like water, and he started arguing, saying “there’s no water in it” LOL like okay, calm down, it’s just not good.
After putting up a whole fight about it, they finally let me get a different drink. I chose a vanilla latte, which wasn’t good either, but at that point I wasn’t about to complain again. The customer service was just bad all around super unprofessional energy over something that could’ve been handled with basic hospitality.
PS… not everyone can make good matcha and...
Read moreI want to make this place my local coffee spot, I really enjoy their coffee...but the service is insanely bad. Unfriendly and even rude, except for the friendly Asian guy handing off drinks at the bar. The staff mumble and speak softly, it's difficult to hear or understand and they'll laugh at you for not being able to understand what they're saying. When I got my coffee today, it was in an open mouth lid, which spilled all over me, including a wool tracksuit and white leather sneakers. There were no napkins at the condiment bar and none at the counter, nor were any of the staff anywhere near to ask for their help. So I threw away what was left of my $7 coffee that I had just bought, and walked out...
