Ichiddo Ramen & Izakaya — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I came into Ichiddo Ramen late in the evening, right before closing, and was warmly reassured I was welcome to stay. The space has a clean, modern design with warm lighting that feels both casual and refined, making it a comfortable spot to settle in for a late-night meal.

I ordered the Char Siu Ramen with extra pork belly, and it was phenomenal. The broth was rich and balanced, the noodles perfectly springy, and the pork belly melt-in-your-mouth tender with just the right sear. While the portion leaned slightly smaller than I expected, the depth of flavor more than made up for it. The chef even came out personally to ask how I enjoyed my bowl, which made the experience feel all the more thoughtful.

To finish, I tried the fried ice cream—a crisp, golden shell around smooth ice cream topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. It was a fun, satisfying way to end the meal. Ordered the Char Siu Ramen with a side of Fried Rice and Chicken Kara-age.

The Kara-age was served with Japanese mayo and a sweet and sour sauce. I think I liked the mayo better, but alternated through the whole plate back and forth - so both were tasty. The chicken itself had a good fry and was tender, but not as juicy as I’ve had across the country.

The side of fried rice was simple - nothing extra in the rice except egg, but it was cooked well and had excellent flavor.

The Char Siu Ramen was the star of my meal - the broth was rich and flavorful, the Char Siu was tender with a great balance of meatiness and fattiness, the noodles were springy, and the bamboo, wood ear mushroom, scallions, and soft boiled egg were excellent complements.
