The first time I went to the Slider House in Midtown here in Nashville I went for lunch and the service was slow (sat at the bar and waited 10 minutes for my beer, another 30 minutes for my sliders). The worst part is that there was no urgency to take care of the guest... I was not impressed at all with the quality of the food and and all this when I actually love the concept of the restaurant. I thought to myself I will probably never come back here.
Well, last night I went again, at eh request of some friends. We sat at a table along the wall and waited about 10 minutes with no greet (mind you the place was not too busy as we were there for the late night at about 11:00) the waitress (and I wish that I remembered her name) took a drink order and the food order immediately where my friend never received his food the entire night..... we left at 1:36am. After an hour of having no food he let the waitress know and she was ... bewildered and at a loss of words.... of course she would have realized this had she actually checked back down with table earlier about the food. She had the manager "chuck" come over and he apologized and offered to get the food for him to take home as a togo meal and then asked that when he returned next time to mention the name "chuck" and he would take care of him again. Well, an hour and a half later... when we decided to leave, the food togo as you might have guessed had never been prepared. I went and talked to the server on the way out and just suggested that this situation is something that they should all talk about as a group to improve there quality of service... her response was that the manager was new. What does that have to do with anything? I personally know 6 people that will never be back to that restaurant again.
This experience is just so disappointing on so many levels... the lack of attention and urgency of the server and manager just baffle me to no end. If the star system could actually go in reverse I would post a -5 star. I am always so excited about what is going on in Nashville with restaurants but this is one that does not make our community better and it is poised to give visitors and natives a bad taste in their mouths for a long time to come. Join me in saying no to The...
Read moreWell I can’t give any stars for the food because we never were able to try it. That was because we sat at a table for 25 minutes and never got so much as a “Hi, welcome to Slider House, I’ll be right with you”. No waters, no beverages at all, no food offered. When you walk in, there is some sad looking sign that says, “Seat yourself and we’ll send someone over” or something to that effect. There were 3 different servers that walked by our table a minimum of 5 times, looked me right in the eyes, and didn’t say a word. Just kept walking. I then went to the bar to see if maybe ordering from a bartender would work. No dice - he wouldn’t greet me either or ask what I needed. Just stood there with his back to me watching TV. I will also mention that I specifically called them yesterday and talked to, who seemed like either a manager or a GM, and asked him if they were doing a watch party for the round of 32 Michigan March Madness game (since they are known as a Michigan bar). He said absolutely and to come on in and “we’ll take care of ya”. I said I heard you guys were a Michigan bar for all the basketball and football games. He said, yes and I’d like to keep it that way. Well with this kind of pathetic service, I wouldn’t advise anyone to give them a shot....
Read moreI wasn't going to do this but now the food done hit my stomach and it ain't happy. Went to sliders with my coworker. Was my last day workin for this company and we decided to eat somewhere new, fun, and that was recommended to my co worker and I on different occasions. Needless to say I asked for sweet tea and got some cold mocha coffee thing. Apparently someone messed up didn't know the difference between tea and powder coffee before they brewed it. That wasn't even the problem. I thought it was funny and kinda cute. Problem was the food. It straight up sucked. I bit my lip just cause the hiccup with the tea and didn't wanna stress anyone out. I don't know if we stumbled upon the the B team or got leftovers from the day prior but damnit I was excited to eat there for the first time just to be let down. The service was great and the environment is fun I will say that. P.S. don't order the rueben or french dip. I've been eating french dip and rueban sandwiches since I was like 8. The rueban didn't even taste like a reuban. The dip I had to remind them to bring it out to me. The meat on the sandwiches were worse then something I could get at Wally world with a great value label on it. Beer was warm and so was the glass. I hope this was just a...
