I'd rate it honestly at about 3.5. This isn't the type of restaurant that I tend to enjoy. My wife picked this place but when she looked at the menu she apologized to me because she knows that their menu isn't really my preference. My wife loves places like this, and she REALLY enjoyed her meal. The service here wasn't very good. The young lady who waited on us wasn't very attentive. Everyone at our table agreed on that.
Since this isn't the type of food I typically enjoy, I played it safe and ordered the simple green salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked. It comes with a lemon vinaigrette sauce. I've never enjoyed vinaigrettes, but it wasn't overpowering. Tomato basil pizza was delicious. We had 2 different bruschetta; mushroom and lemon ricotta. My wife and her friend loved both. We also tried the warm chocolate cake and the chocolate cake with marshmallow. I thought both were fantastic. This menu was created by the same chef that created Drusie and Darr's menu. I really enjoy Drusie and Darr and looking forward to visiting again. As previously stated this isn't necessarily my preference but my wife and her bestie had a great experience and...
Read moreLocation location location: Directly catercorner to TPAC. Exciting to me because I need a before, intermission, and after show spot for my coffee, snack, and cocktail outings when I go to TPAC shows. It used to be Frothy Monkey but they reduced their hours and are not open in the evenings. I've only been here for the espresso and snack so far but will come back for the cocktails soon. The highs are the quality of customer service, cuteness of the decor, the simplicity of the menus. The La Colombe espresso was nicely extracted, but I have a particular taste for coffee and La Colombe is not my thing. The Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie is mildly flavorful so a little disappointed because of its price. It went well with the espresso though so I had a nice experience overall. Not 5 stars because the price point suggests a higher quality, but then again the location is exceptional (heart of downtown, high end hotel). They will be seeing me here regardless...
Read moreI had a great experience the first time, second time around aka today not so much… the atmosphere is great but once I sat down, a server immediately dropped a glass cup near me, one of the glass remains hitting my foot, thankfully I was not hurt, but that was a very close call… as common curtesy, most high class places like this cafe is trying to be will cover your bill or at least offer some form of compensation for your unpleasant experience, but no, nothing, in fact, I was baffled to be charged almost $8 for a matcha latte that looks like it was made by an extreme amateur, not a barista. Also the mug was chipped… It was also served to me piping hot. How is your coffee around $4 but your matcha almost $8? & PLEASE, train your cafe...
