Live Music, Cold Beer, and the Power of the Good Vibe
Strong with the Force, Whiskey River Saloon in Nashville is.
Stopped in, I did, for a simple mission: listen to live music and sip on a cold beer. Yet what I discovered was more powerful than expected—a honky-tonk cantina brimming with energy, heart, and enough bourbon to make even Master Yoda tap his foot.
Live Music, The Saloon’s Beating Heart
Live music here flows like the Force itself—ever present, ever moving. Talented local artists take the stage, their voices echoing across the saloon like a well-aimed saber. The sound system? Crisp, clear, and strong enough to awaken the spirit of any wandering traveler. Whether you're a lover of country, rock, or southern soul, the Whiskey River stage holds power to transport you.
Beer, Bourbon & The Whiskey Wall
Step inside, and your senses will be drawn to the legendary Whiskey and Bourbon Bar. A wall of liquid gold, it is. Rows upon rows of whiskey, bourbon, and tequila stand tall—aged bottles from galaxies near and far. The selection rivals that of Coruscant's finest watering holes, and the bartenders wield their shakers like seasoned lightsaber duelists.
A cold beer I had, simple and satisfying. But if your journey leads you deeper, rare bourbons and craft cocktails await—each crafted with care and worthy of a Jedi Council toast.
Ambiance, Warm Like Tatooine’s Suns (But With Better AC)
Rustic wood, glowing neon, and friendly faces fill the saloon. The rooftop Sky Bar beckons above, offering views of Broadway and fresh air beneath the stars. Should you crave adrenaline, the mechanical bull challenges even the bravest—“Get Bucked,” they say. A true trial for those who seek glory.
Final Thoughts: A Nashville Cantina Worth the Journey
Whether you're a local or just passing through the galaxy, Whiskey River Saloon offers a welcoming oasis in downtown Nashville. Great beer, live music, and an atmosphere that would make even Obi-Wan trade robes for cowboy boots. Strong in nightlife, it is.
May your drinks be cold, your music loud, and your ride on the bull longer...
Read moreMy wife and i went there on july 31st. 2022 3rd day of grand opening, we sat at the bar, i gave a girl there my card to pay 45.00 on 3 drinks at 15.00 ea. And at the reciept i wrote --0-- for tips and signed of on it. Well as soon as we got home tuesday my bill changed from 45.00 to 90.00 and i noticed this the day befor and day after, watch the girls there because they take advantage of you as a tourist, and since im back in chicago, the girl decided on her own to give herself 45.00 as a tip even though i crossed out the tip part w a line across the zero so no one alters it and it was dishonest on her part. We manually gave her a 5.00 tip out of cash and she did this to us...i hope the owners see this because im telling all my friends to look out for their credit cards and to just pay cash...the guy with the pizza chain was kool, honest, and was a better bartender, and the band was awsome although we went there on the day before the wwe wrestling match payed w cash, and liked the service, but then the next day on our aniversary plus my birthday mannnn that girl took advantage of us...Poeple watch out for the girl bartenders w your credit cards or debit cards, take cash if you could it was bad enough the girl served us more juice than alchohol, i could taste it and they dont use the measuring cup for alcohol there, theyre cheep w their alchohol. I hope the owner sees this because he should have a copy of our reciept there, its under rafael franco at chase card. It should say 45.00 and they took an extra 45.00 altered my reciept somehow that equals 90.00 as fraud. I wish i lived there so i could go back and confront that girl, and talk to the owner, its bad for bussiness and their reputation...sincerely rafael and shelly franco thanks for our aniversary and my birthday day experience and to think we liked it the first time and we returned the second day choosing that bar over kid...
Read moreWe had a really disappointing experience at Whiskey River Saloon on Broadway in Nashville on Sunday, 1/26/25. My wife and I were the only patrons for a while—it wasn’t busy at all—and we spent 4 hours and over $200 on food and drink.
One thing that really bothered me was how they roll the taxes into the price of food and drinks, which miss leads people into tipping more. This might be fine if the service was good, but it definitely wasn’t. I get that Nashville charges extra liquor taxes and service fees, but most places itemize these charges so you can tip on the service provided, not tip extra on taxes and fees.
The food and performers were great, and the bartender downstairs was friendly and attentive, but the waitress upstairs rushed us out so she could get out of there quicker.
The real kicker was when the security guard and manager wouldn’t allow us to use the restroom before leaving, which was incredibly unprofessional. They acted like they couldn’t be bothered, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth.
To make things worse, they closed early at 10 pm because there weren’t enough customers (3 am closing time advertised online). Overall, the experience was frustrating and inconsiderate. I won’t be returning and wouldn't recommend it to others visiting Broadway in Nashville.
Businesses in Nashville, particularly those that serve food and drink, are generally required to provide restrooms for their patrons. The city's health and safety codes, as well as the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) regulations, typically mandate that any business serving alcohol must have accessible restrooms available for customers. Denying access to a restroom, especially after a customer has spent money at the establishment, would likely be considered a violation of...
