Carnegie Diner & Cafe — Restaurant in New York

Decided to check out this newly opened diner with my friends. i ordered the Southern chicken sandwich. I took a bite and the chicken was pink, so i asked one of the workers who sent the sandwich back. He came back with my same sandwich, and said the chicken is okay, but to make sure they “threw it in the fryer” again. He also claimed that it was the lighting that made my chicken appear pink. So I continued to eat, and when i reached the thicker part of the chicken, i saw that it was raw.

all things said and done I appreciated our waitress (Jamie i think) who informed the cooks in the back and was apologetic. But that still doesn’t excuse an undercooked chicken sandwich priced at $18. They ended up replacing the sandwich with another burger but was still charged for the sandwich. Watch...

Colazione prima della partenza...si torna a casa. Locale grande, aperto dalle 7:00, quando tutti aprono alle 8:00, alle 7:40 praticamente pieno, abbiamo occupato forse l'ultimo tavolo. Abbiamo preso caffè/refill per 5$, molto apprezzato. Uova alla benedettina su "pane" integrale con avocado e aggiunta di salmone: in realtà il pane era un semplice toast integrale, non adatto, troppo fine e poco consistente, inoltre mancava il contrasto di un formaggio saporito...piatto non riuscito, tutto troppo "piatto" e dolce... Peccato. Poi abbiamo ordinato Pancake con burro di arachidi, arachidi e "pezzettini" o crumble di Bacon, che in realtà era una porzione di bacon normale ma non essendo chiara la descrizione ho ordinato altro bacon a parte, alla fine doppia porzione....Pancake perfetto, contrasto dolce/salato bilanciatissimo, al contrario dell'altra portata, piatto super riuscito....il miglior pancake delle ultime 2 settimane, veramente super...per chi ama il genere. Ho dovuto chiedere lo sciroppo d'acero che è compreso nel piatto....ci hanno provato. Cameriere poco attento, abbiamo dovuto cercarlo per i vari refill di caffè mentre dovrebbe essere lui a sincerarsi se la tazza è vuota....o sbaglio. Siccome danno anche un servizio refill di cocktail a 19/20$ "Mimosa" se nn sbaglio, se il servizio è "distratto" diventa noiosissimo...comunque tornerei di sicuro per riprendere Pancakes e provare altro....ambiente molto carino e curato.
