I love love love this place! I can’t say good enough things about it, and can’t recommend it enough. The food is as fresh as it gets and tastes like heaven. The owners are the nicest, kindest and warmest people, the staff are all hand-picked and it shows. This is the epitome of a neighborhood resturant. They become like family. The food is super affordable, huge portions and high quality. And bonus, my kids love the food here! And you know your children are getting high-quality food. They are very kid-friendly which is always a bonus! We dine-in or order almost every day. If I want something light for lunch I order a tabbouleh salad with hummus as a side. For dinner we will get the chicken taouk, chicken or beef shawarma with rice or chips. We sometimes get burgers and chips here, or wraps. And we always buy hummus and babagabush that we eat with their complimentary pita bread. In winter we do delivery often. I always love their lentil soup in the winter. They also constantly adding on different items to the menu. The delivery or in-store orders are always quick, and they buy high-quality containers that hold heat, so it never is cold by the time you get home. All I can say is Charbel and...
Read moreBeing a Lebanese, I wanted to love this place. NYC lacks of Lebanese restaurants. However Lebanese people are extremely picky when it comes to judging their own food... I stumbled upon this place on Uber and I ordered the following: Shish Taouk Sandwich, Tabboule, Knefe, and Muhallabiye. The Tabboule was Stale, the green parsley was dark green and it seems it was prepared from yesterday. Unfortunately it went straight to trash. The secret to a good Lebanese Tabboule is not only the sauce, but also the fresh ingredients, If I wanted a stale Tabboule I would've ordered the Whole Foods one. As far as for the Taouk Sandwich, it was average, the chicken was ok, the garlic was ok and the bread was also ok, is it yummy? No, is it bad? No. It was just average. The Knefe was the highlight of my meal, it was yummy, it lacked a little cheese but the syrop was spot on, sweet with a delicious hint of orange blossom. Would I order from this place again, I don't think so, at least not before they improve, there are better Lebanese restaurants in the city with higher quality food for sure. Its NYC and they need to up their game. I still give this place 3 stars, hoping they...
Read moreChamoun's Way offers consistently delicious homemade-style dishes in a warm and charming atmosphere. The menu includes many options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians and the service is efficient, prompt, and friendly.
I've dined at Chamoun's Way a number of times and have tried many appetizing items - the chicken shawerma is tender, the beet salad is fresh and made with real (not canned like other restaurants!) beets, the spicy potatoes have just the right amount of kick, the french fries are freshly cut, the halloumi cheese sandwich has the perfect balance with tomatoes, cucumber and mint, and the homestyle items like chicken molokkhia (roasted chicken and jute leaves), mujetereh (lentils) and fasoolia (green beans) taste just like home. It's hard to find classic dishes like these, and not only does Chamoun's Way offer it on its menu, it is top-notch.
As an extra bonus, Chamoun's Way serves quality Lebanese wine and beer and we had a nice bottle of white Chateau Kefraya to pair with our dinner. I highly recommend Chamoun's Way -- it's a perfect and tasty place to dine with family...
