Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning to This Location

We recently visited this Georgian restaurant for the first time at this location, having been loyal customers of the Ubani West Village location for years. Unfortunately, this visit left us very disappointed, and I cannot recommend this branch.

I came with my husband and our 4-year-old child, along with our friends — another couple and their 4-year-old daughter. At the end of the evening, we were surprised to find a mandatory service charge added to the bill simply because we were six people — even though two of them were small children. We were not informed about this policy in advance, and frankly, I find it unreasonable. Since when are toddlers considered part of a “party-sized” group?

To make matters worse, the bill also included a juice we never ordered or drank.

As for the food — unfortunately, the experience didn’t get better. The sauces were noticeably different from what we’ve come to expect at the West Village location, and honestly, not tasty at all. It didn’t feel like the same classic Georgian cuisine we’ve loved in the past.

We will definitely not be returning to this location, and I would strongly recommend sticking to the original Ubani in West Village if you want an authentic and pleasant Georgian...
