It's been a while since I last visited McDonald's, and my recent experience left me with mixed feelings.
Positives: Firstly, I must commend the quality of the food. My burger was freshly made and delicious, and the fries were hot and crispy, just as I remember them. The counter person was nice and friendly, ensuring my order was accurate and efficiently handled. These aspects of my visit were undeniably pleasant and met my expectations.
Concerns: However, I have some concerns that I feel compelled to share. McDonald's used to be my go-to place for a meal, a spot where families could gather, enjoy a meal, and let their kids play in the indoor playgrounds. It was a place that fostered a sense of community and connection.
Unfortunately, things seem to have changed. I haven't been frequenting McDonald's as much due to changes in the company's approach. The redesign of restaurants, often excluding the indoor playgrounds, diminishes the family-friendly atmosphere that was once a hallmark of McDonald's. This shift has, in my opinion, reduced the appeal for families with children.
Moreover, the introduction of kiosks, while convenient for some, seems to have created an unintended consequence. It feels as if the human touch is being phased out, and customers who prefer interacting with staff might find themselves waiting longer at the counter – sometimes up to five minutes – before being attended to.
During my recent visit, despite the great food and friendly service, the empty seats in the dining room reinforced my impression that the location doesn't particularly encourage in-house dining. It felt as though the restaurant was designed more for efficiency than for creating a welcoming environment for customers to sit and enjoy their meals.
Conclusion: In summary, while I had a positive experience with the food and service at this specific McDonald's location, the broader changes in the company's approach have dampened my enthusiasm. The shift away from a family-friendly atmosphere, the emphasis on kiosks, and the apparent disinterest in promoting in-house dining have all contributed to my mixed feelings. I hope McDonald's can find a balance that retains its traditional charm while embracing modern...
Read moreI am VERY disappointed in the service I received tonight. I stop by this location at least 2-3 times a week for breakfast. I stopped in on my way home for dinner tonight. I placed my order at the kiosk at 7:44. Then sat down. The manager on duty was clearly not handling the store. Heard her make comment such as,"They have to wait, if they cant wait, oh well" Very loud behind the counter. Then she was talking to another customer about how bad some of the employees that work there are, that "they dont want to work". I told myself, Ill give it till 8pm to get my food before I go get refund. I got my food at 7:58. tasted the fries, they were old and cold. I didnt even bother with the burger.
At this point, I got up went to YOUR manager on duty, and asked for a refund. She didnt even ask what my issue was. I asked for the original receipt, so that I can take the survey, she stated I could not have it back. I then asked for a copy, she refused. I asked for her name, her response, "for what?' I stated so that I can tell the owner who I am dealing with. She then asked what my issue was, and I told her. She then stated, I didnt give her a chance to fix it. I stated after waiting almost 20 mins., there should have been no issues. She had no name tag on and REFUSED to give a name. I asked for owners name and number, her reaponse, "Its on the wall" I asked for name several time, and she refused to give it out. At this point she started walking away from me stating very loudly, "Whatever".
I am a Customer Service Manager, and it was just sad to see that you have a manager like that in place. I feel bad for the staff that has to work with her and the customers that have to deal with her.
Sent email and phone call to number on wall. No response. Found out her name is Nisha. So sad employees and customers have to deal with...

4 years ago , I did a feedback on terrible customer service towards Uber Eats Drivers picking up orders at McDonald's drive-thru after 9:45 pm.
4 years later, nothing had changed.
May 6, 2025, McDonalds West Montague Ave. North Charleston, SC 29418.
I had a pickup order from DoorDash.
My Dasher app told me that I can pick up DoorDash order inside of McDonald's lobby, but their lobby doors were locked.
I went to McDonald's drive-thru and waited for 26 minutes for DoorDash order.
Probably the General Manager ( or franchise owner) will say, " if you don't want wait, you can cancel."
But here's the truth about delivery driver canceling orders for long wait time in drive-thru.
DoorDash will give the driver an option of a zero penalty of canceling a order if the driver waited in drive- thru ( or lobby) for 10-45 minutes, and was not able to pick up the order at McDonald's , or fast food chain restaurant.
Even though, this option gives the Dasher zero penalty , they will get zero pay for the long wait time.
Uber eats pay for cancellation for long wait time in drive-thru, but it's $3.
Uber eats will stop paying cancellation fee, if the driver has too many cancellation, despite if the driver proved that a fast food drive-thru is creating long way time from picking up the order.
98% of the time, customer will give zero to $5 tip for the driver waiting at a fast food drive-thru for 26 minutes to 45 minutes .
I know what I'm talking about because I have talked to customers in my 7 years of doing online deliveries for DoorDash and Ubereats.
The DoorDash order I picked up and delivered on May 6, 2025, DoorDash paid me $4, customer tip was zero.
