The SoundBar — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I absolutely love this place. I have been going for about a year and I always love the chill vibe. I started collecting vinyl about 4 years ago. My sister from another mister was growing weary of me yawning whenever she would stop at a record booth to peruse the vinyl. When she upgraded her system, she gifted me her old 3 in 1. Those do the job, sometimes, however, it isn't a prime listening experience. I knew it was time for me to level up, but I am overwhelmed with technology. I knew I wanted a turntable but wasn't even sure what other components I would need. After visiting a local record store, I was only slightly less confused. I knew that Jay at The Soundbar would be a good resource. I had a nice visit there. I told Jay what I was trying to do. He asked a few questions concerning budget, room size and music style. He recommended a Fluance turntable, Wiim amplifier and some nice Kanto bookshelf speakers. I ordered them and he even advised me over the phone on how to hook them up. What a game changer! Being vintage music freak and instilled into my daughter the beauty of vintage music equipment she knows what sounds good. She just got settled in OKC and stumbled upon this place..calls me up, tells me of her find and a few pics. Looks like my dream cafe. Out of the blue I make random call. Jay answers and proceeds to feed me Dick hardening information about his equipment down to model # just from what my daughter described. He knows I’m in Dallas and he got no chance of me being there anytime soon but just like a man who loves what he does actually seems to enjoy talking with me. Mind you he’s at work on a Saturday night (Peak time) and not only answers in detail all my questions but then mentions he also has Klipschorn. Speakers. (My grail) can only imagine the way this guy treated an out of Towner how they treat their in house customers must surely be a rare treat.,can’t wait...

Got a couple of fabulous mixed drinks and every employee was wonderful.

Sat in the backroom checking out some audio equipment for sale, and Jay was wonderful. He helped us listen to several speakers and was genuinely well informed and let us jam out to several songs while not pressuring sales or nothing, he was just happy to show off what he had and was telling us details about the entire set up.

Ended up purchasing some speakers that I didn't know I wanted, but did not have my car with me that night and was leaving town the next morning. Jay agreed to meet me in the morning to load them up.

Everything about this place is magical and Jay knows his stuff!
