The location of this restaurant at the end of a dead-end road with no turnaround and its extremely limited parking are the main reasons I will never visit here again and do not recommend this restaurant. It seems like this location is intended to serve mostly foot traffic from the apartments across the street and the district that it is located within, as opposed to people from all over the city. This might work well in a more urban setting where people walk, bike, or use public transportation, but it seems ill-advised for Oklahoma City and the surrounding suburbs where most people own vehicles and drive to places. You need to be VERY comfortable maneuvering your vehicle to patronize this restaurant, and you should bring your smallest vehicle.
The building itself is also relatively small. My husband and I visited around 11 am on a weekday, so it was not crowded, but I imagine it fills up fast during busier times. There is also no waiting area, so you will be constantly jostled by door traffic and staff traffic if you come at a busy time and have to wait for a table.
As for our dining experience, the food was good and the service was adequate. We asked about eating on the patio and were told we could seat ourselves, but the door to the patio was locked and no employee offered to open it, despite the fact that an employee was sitting at a table right beside the door doing paperwork. Our order arrived quickly, correctly, and was good. They do have some of the better wood-fired pizza in the metro area so that is a plus, if you are willing to deal with the location and the parking situation.
However, personally we will never return to this restaurant due to the location, horrible parking, and tiny building. I do not recommend it, unless you like the claustrophobic experience of urban settings and can walk or bike there. They are definitely catering to a demographic of which I am not a part of, so I don’t imagine they will take my feedback into account nor is there anything they can do to remedy my issues, but wanted to leave this review to let other potential customers know more about this location so they can decide whether it is a good fit for them before making the effort to eat at this restaurant. Hopefully The Wedge will build a more accessible location in the future as they do have good pizza and we would eat there more often if they opened a more...
Read moreMy experience at The Wedge Pizzeria was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was welcoming and warm. What caught my eye first was their charming garden out front. It's not just an aesthetic touch; they grow their own vegetables and herbs right there, a testament to their commitment to fresh, local produce. This garden-to-table approach truly shines in the quality and taste of their dishes.
Manager Alana was the epitome of hospitality. She greeted us with a smile and made sure to check in on us throughout our meal. It's clear she takes pride in ensuring every customer has a great experience. Her helpfulness and attentiveness truly elevated our visit from just another dinner outing to a memorable experience.
Now, let's talk about the food—each dish seemed to outdo the last. I started off with the garlic knots, and oh my, were they delicious. Soft, buttery, and infused with just the right amount of garlic, they were the perfect appetizer.
But what truly stole the show was the BBQ chicken pizza. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the BBQ sauce had the right balance of tangy and sweet. The sausage and meatballs that I heard another table raving about are also made in-house, just like their dressings. It's this attention to detail and quality that sets The Wedge Pizzeria apart from others.
And do yourself a favor—get the homemade garlic butter for the crust. It's rich, full of flavor, and makes the already superb pizza crust taste even better. It's the best way to complete the meal.
I also noticed other patrons enjoying a variety of dishes, from salads to pasta, and everything looked delicious. I heard whispers of how good their homemade dressings were, confirming that making things from scratch is simply their standard.
All in all, The Wedge Pizzeria exceeded my expectations in every way—food quality, service, and atmosphere. I'm already planning my next visit. Five stars doesn't even seem like enough for this gem of...
Read moreTake it from someone who has worked here for over 7 years. This company is terrible. The health department needs to hit ALL DeepFork restaurants HARD. We’ve been asked to cover up so many unsanitary things. The kitchen staff prepares food without gloves. Half of the drink mixes have spoiled and we are told to use them anyways in order to conserve money. X The spray bottle to “sanitize” is often times just hand soap and water. 30% of the food In the kitchen is stored under the bar tap which leaks beer all over the inside. The tables and menus are caked in grease to the point u have to peel them off one another. The bathrooms have boogers caked on the walls. The gluten free dough is often prepared with the same unwashed hands that touched the flour. The owners are so uninvolved with the actual restaurant that most of these complaints don’t even get heard. This is an establishment that had SO much promise before it was entrusted to the weak and careless hands that manage it today. This most definitely includes the western location as the manager there has been untrusted over all wedge restaurants as a “GM”. His pathetic attempt at managing this restaurant can be seen by observing just how unsanitary and dysfunctional these establishments operate on a consistent basis. One would hope that someone who’s shining life achievement is managing a second rate pizzeria, would at least be able to accomplish that. But stupid is as stupid does I guess. The management is weak, fragile, and doesn’t enforce any rules or order in these establishments. The entire staff is miserable and the owners do nothing but rake in a check. And not to mention the numerous sexual harassment lawsuits that have been swept under the table. Stop. And give your money to people who are actually...
