Reagan's House of Pancakes – A Sweet Start to the Morning
My wife, our 3-year-old, and I stopped in for some breakfast buffet action at Reagan’s House of Pancakes. It's a smaller place, but we walked right in with no wait. As someone with a cooking and chef background, I always keep an eye on cleanliness and kitchen flow—and this place looked clean and well-kept.
Funny moment right off the bat: I entered from the side and saw some kitchen staff out back feeding a group of geese and goslings with food scraps. The birds were thrilled, and while it raised a small flag in my mind about sanitation (just out of habit from my background), it wasn’t like they were touching the birds and then heading back to the line—it seemed harmless.
As for the food itself, the buffet was surprisingly fresh for a setup like this. The French toast and pancakes were definitely the stars—soft, warm, and sweet. The sausage gravy tasted a bit canned, but everything else held up well. My 3-year-old ate for free, which was a nice bonus and always appreciated by parents.
The service was fast, friendly, and to the point—exactly what you want in a breakfast rush. Our bill for two adults came out to just under $50, which is on the higher end for breakfast, especially for a buffet. So if you’ve got a big family, you might want to shop around a bit in town. But if you’re in the mood for sweet, classic breakfast favorites, Reagan’s is definitely...
Read moreThe food was great as always but the service was horrible. We sat down waiting on a waitress but one never came. We got up and got our food from the buffet and sit back down. After halfway through our meal no waitress ever showed up so my wife went to the hostess and asked if she could get us a waitress to bring us something to drink since we were choking down our food. She went in the back then came back with two glasses of water and told us the waitress would be right out. Ten minutes went by and a waitress finally showed up. She said let me get you some napkins and walked off. Ten minutes later again and no waitress. The sad thing was the whole time we were sitting there one waitress was sitting at a table snacking on bacon, another waitress was sitting there talking to her, another waitress was flirting with a customer and one was sitting at a table talking to a family. We got up from the table and went to the front to pay and the lady had the nerve to ask if we wanted to leave a tip...LOL! The only person there who deserved a tip was the cook because the food was great. I have always loved eating here but this was the third time in a row where the service was horrible. We figured we would give them the benefit of a doubt and try it one more time but they let us down again and we'll...
Read moreDo not eat here!! If anything go to ihop instead!! We left 15 minutes after sitting down because the food made us nauseous. We paid $34 for 2 people for that amount of time and no wonder they’re able to bring people in so quickly. Force you to tip 10% presumably because their service is so awful they can’t get tips off of their own merit
Because there was so many things wrong with this restaurant and it gets a lot of good reviews I’ll just put everything bad with it in a list:
The staff was rude and snarky every time they talked to us, couldn’t even order drinks without receiving an attitude. Tried to help them out saying someone dropped the pancake tongs in the gravy and without a word she took the sausage tongs and handed them to me.
All the food was jumbled up in a pile right next to each other, worse than any other buffet I’ve been to. There was gravy in the potatoes on both sides
Plates were dirty
Food was awful quality, pancakes and French toast were burnt and cold despite being on top of the huge pile they had sitting there. Sausage and bacon were stale and just all around bad flavor. Fruit was left untouched for the entire morning and by the time I got to it I didn’t want to touch it, it looked disgusting..
The soft drinks tasted just as bad as the drinks which idk...
