Really disappointing experience. 👎🏼 (Know that I was looking forward to trying this nicely designed place and I hate leaving bad reviews)

TL;DR: do not use opentable’s waitlist as they don’t honor it and just walk in. Skip the appetizers they’re nothing special. Good to try once but the food is too average to return.

Came here on a weekday with 2 girlfriends and knowing it was the new popular spot in the neighborhood we decided to use Opentable’s waitlist early enough to get a spot. We ended up waiting 2 FULL HOURS. After getting a drink somewhere else, we decided to get a drink at the restaurant and had enough time to finish a bottle at the bar. We ended up realizing that they were actually sitting walk-Ins before us this whole time! When we confronted the hostess about it she basically mumbled that because it was an external service they were not prioritizing it. (WTH would you use it then?) “And you also asked for a table outside, it’s very popular” (it was a freezing night in SF).

She sat us briefly after that. We complained about this poor service and they ended up sending us 2 appetizers…while it’s better than nothing, we had already purchased a bottle + 2 appetizers + 3 main dishes so a nicer thing would have been to remove something from our bill. Also what if these two free things were not our taste and/or someone was allergic to something? Not super pro.

The bartender raved about several items so we decided to trust him. We pretty much tried all of their appetizers and none of them stood out. Super disappointing. (Lots of fried stuff without much flavor).

I tried the risotto and it was pretty...

I've dined here twice so far and enjoyed everything I've eaten.

My most recent experience was a "treat yo self" day. I got a glass of rosé, the mushroom risotto, and the lemon olive oil cake.

The mushroom risotto was so good! It lives up to the hype imo. The rice was cooked perfectly and it was full of mushroom flavor. It was a good portion, too. I was full, but I needed to get a dessert to round out all that savory goodness. Eating the lemon olive oil cake was love at first bite! It was so delicious! The cake was moist and full of lemon flavor. It also came with a scoop of lemon gelato, which added bit of tartness. I'm more of a chocolate person, and they do have a chocolate dessert on the menu. But I highly recommend the lemon olive oil cake, which will be my go-to dessert the next time I dine here.

Service was friendly and I got my food pretty quickly. The restaurant has a good space for both small and large parties. The last time I was here, they had a parklet but I don't know if it's still there considering the city's new rules. Because it's spacious inside, the acoustics aren't that great. It can get really noisy.

I want to come back here for happy hour. It gets really busy around that time. If you want a table, definitely make a reservation. If you're there for happy hour, the bar seating is first come...

Light red-haired female server was EXTREMELY rude for no obvious reason. To name a few incidents:

  1. Corrected someone ordering a harder to pronounce dish, as if they were a complete imbecile and we were inconveniencing her for having to correct the name
  2. After paying (and tipping 22%) at the table using a mobile checkout device, she threw the card onto the middle of the table instead of just politely handing it the owner
  3. while trying to leave the restaurant, we tried to take the right hand side of the pathway, like you would normally. She also decided to walk on the same side as us, trying to get into the kitchen. Normally servers would generally say “excuse me”, to go first, OR say “you go ahead”. Instead she proceeds to stand there, give us death glares for 5+ seconds. We then had to shimmy past her cause we apparently were all in the wrong.

At first I thought it was just me who was reading the situation wrong, but my friends all confirmed that they felt the same hostility throughout the meal from her.

Terrible taste in my mouth, will not be coming back or recommending to anyone I know.

Food was just okay....
