The atmosphere was very beautiful upon entering and I was very excited to try out a new Korean Barbeque place in downtown, Savannah. We were seated right away and did not have to wait very long. We were given the option for Korean BBQ which is on the third floor or to sit downstairs and have everything cooked for you. The dining areas and bathrooms were very clean. I feel like the food was on the more expensive side and it was to be expected prior to arriving. When we were seated on the third floor we were given menus and water right away. We were told the waitress would be right with us which is no problem given it was a Friday evening. Id have to say the service was the worst I have ever experienced especially given how expensive it was. The waitress didnt even acknowledge us for about 35 minutes and I wanted to walk out honestly. But, my partner said we should give it a try and we did. I do have to say the food/ runner was very proactive in making sure we had drinks during our wait. We ordered the meat special for two and we did not get our food for awhile. We received the sides, sauces, and rice first. My partner ordered two sides of rice and they only brought out one. So we had to wait again on the side of rice. The rice was really bland honestly and I was a bit dissapointed on the experience. My partner had to ask the waitress if she could explain the sides, sauces, and which meat was which on the food we ordered. For such a nice and beautiful place im quite dissapointed on the service we had. I had heard nothing but amazing things about this restaurant and in the end it was a terrible experience. We were nice to everyone and tried to look past it but when receiving the bill the waitress asked if we wanted to pay online or in cash. She brings over a tablet for the bill and I felt quite rushed trying to pay honestly. I know people may have bad days but anytime we asked questions she looked annoyed or brushed off my question. My partner and I have both worked jobs in the food service industry and understand that people have bad days. But, for a place that is suppose to be high end it was a weird experience. I hope that others enjoy their experience here in the future. Im not one to leave reviews but would rather someone know not to waste their time on the Korean BBQ on the...
Read moreSo, Madame Butterfly—a spot my friend couldn't stop raving about. Our decision to swing by ended up being one of those spontaneous dining moments you cherish. As we snagged a same-day reservation, my friend's excitement was infectious—she was practically bouncing off the walls with anticipation.
Now, let's talk food. We went in with high expectations, and Madame Butterfly didn't disappoint. The MADAME BANG SHRIMP? Let's just say, it was everything I could have hoped for and more. These shrimp were no joke—plump, juicy, and coated in the perfect amount of crispy goodness. Each bite was like a flavor explosion in my mouth, leaving me speechless (well, almost).
As for cocktails, I'm usually a bit wary, but our waiter, John, convinced me to take a chance. And boy, am I glad I did. His pick, the MONARCH, was like nothing I've ever tasted before—a delightful concoction of Soju Barley, Strawberry, Honey Balsamic, Citrus, and Yogurt Espuma that had me practically licking the glass clean. It was sweet, tangy, and just downright delicious. (I have proof)
My friend opted for the adventurous JAJANGMYON "BLACK NOODLES," a dish she saw from our neighbor table. While it wasn't quite to my taste initially, its unique flavor grew on me with each bite. On the other hand, my choice, the BIBIMBAP, was a revelation. Let me tell you, that marinated steak was the stuff of dreams—tender, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying. Paired with the spicy gochujang sauce and pickled veggies, it was a flavor explosion that left me craving more. The marinated steak stole the show, perfectly complementing the other ingredients, though I could have done without the soggy rice at the bottom.
Throughout our meal, John's recommendations were on point, and his warm demeanor only added to the experience. He made sure we felt right at home, which is exactly what you want in a dining companion.
All in all, Madame Butterfly is the real deal. From the mouthwatering dishes to the top-notch service, it's a spot that'll keep you coming back for more. So, if you find yourself in Savannah, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Read moreI made an advanced reservation for a special birthday dinner in the main dining room, where I had requested premier seating. Unfortunately, when my guest & I arrived, we were seated off to the side of the bar with inadequate lighting. I inquired about the seating, & our waiter, Mario, explained that it was the only option available for our party size at the time.
Mario's service, however, left much to be desired. He seemed somewhat distant, often taking only a few people's orders at a time & then walking away. When we informed him it was my birthday & we wanted a memorable experience, he appeared surprised & asked if the service had been bad. Although we reassured him, it was clear we were looking for a more engaging & attentive service.
The problems persisted when our food was brought to the table. The waitstaff couldn't differentiate the cooking temperature of the meat to match the plates correctly, leading to confusion. Neither Mario nor another staff member addressed this issue promptly. We also experienced delays with some drink orders, & when we brought it up, Mario seemed taken aback & shifted the blame to the bar or the kitchen, lacking accountability & follow-through. Despite his request for feedback on the service, he couldn't handle constructive criticism.
Furthermore, many of our guests' steak orders did not meet their requested temperatures. Given our overall service experience, we chose not to inform Mario, as it seemed futile.
While some of the dishes, such as the wagyu, brussels sprouts, prime rib, wings, croquettes, and Madame Bang shrimp, were enjoyable, the ribeye lacked flavor. On a positive note, the drinks were good. Nevertheless, our service experience left a significant dent in our overall impression, making it unlikely for us to return to the establishment.
The restaurant added a 20% gratuity to each check, which we felt exceeded the value of our dining experience. The good food couldn't compensate for arrogant &...
