"Vinnie Van GoGo is truly a hidden treasure in the heart of Savannah, Georgia. As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I couldn't resist the urge to try out this renowned establishment, and let me tell you, it exceeded all my expectations.Situated along the waterfront, the ambiance of Vinnie Van GoGo is simply delightful. The cozy corner location, just across from Franklin Square Park, sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that immediately makes you feel at home. Now, onto the main event - the pizza. I believe in starting with the basics to truly gauge the authenticity of any pizza joint, so we ordered a plain cheese pie. And let me tell you, it was pure perfection. The crust was crispy yet chewy, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the cheese was beautifully melted and oh-so-satisfying. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. But what truly sets Vinnie Van GoGo apart is the attention to detail and the passion for quality ingredients. You can taste the dedication and craftsmanship in every slice. And while the name might be a bit quirky, don't let that fool you - this place is the real deal when it comes to delicious pizza.Despite not being locals, we stumbled upon Vinnie Van GoGo while browsing Google Maps in search of authentic pizza. It turned out to be one of the best discoveries of our trip! For parking, there is plenty of space available on the streets on weekdays, making it convenient for those midweek cravings. However, it's important to note that parking can be challenging on weekends due to the popularity of the area.Whether you're a local looking for your new favorite spot or a visitor exploring the charming streets of Savannah, do yourself a favor and make a pit stop at Vinnie Van GoGo. Trust me, you won't regret it. Five stars doesn't even begin to do justice to this culinary gem."

Do not - I repeat - DO NOT call yourself a pizza lover if you pass on Vinnie Van Go-Go's while you're in Savannah. Because I've got New York blood running through my veins, I tell anyone who will listen that I've got a separate stomach just for pizza. When I heard everyone talking (raving, really) about the slices here - both for the size and the quality - I made a point of stopping here before we left the city. Having had it, I can definitely add my voice to the loud Yelp praises of this pizza joint. Folks, the hype here is well-deserved. There's a dine-in area but you're going to have a hard time finding a seat without investing in a long wait. Thankfully, Vinnie Van Go-Go's thoughtfully added a walk-up counter for takeout orders, and there's even a voice amplifier so that you'll have no trouble trotting over when your order is called. My order of two slices charged 8 dollars and change, along with a ten to twelve minutes. Once it was in my hand, I jetted over to my husband, who was waiting nearby at a no-parking spot, and we absolutely DEMOLISHED these slices. The size reminds me of Coronet's, another authentic NYC pizza place with comically large slices (picture below with my hand next to it for reference). But size means nothing it it doesn't taste good, and I'm more than happy to report that this is a true blue New York slice. The sauce, the crust rigidity, the proportions of cheese to sauce to crust....it nearly drew a tear while I was digging in. I don't always get this impassioned about food, but I'll be dreaming about the pizza high from these slices for a long while to come.

We got three large pizzas from Vinnie Van Go Go's last Friday to carry out for dinner at my friend's bachelorette party. Originally, we'd hoped for delivery, but that wasn't available when we placed our order, so my friend and I drove over to pick our pizzas up after ordering online. They were very busy, even just an hour before close. I stayed in my friend's car to make sure nothing happened to it while she went inside to get our order, but I could see the restaurant from where we parked and it looked like there was a long line. Looks like patio seating is available. Kind of nice. Other than that, can't really remark on the atmosphere. My friend took a while getting our pizzas and came back reporting they seemed a little disorganized. The man she originally spoke to acted as though he had no idea what she was talking about when she walked up to claim our online order, and he eventually had to find someone else to help her. They managed to figure out the location of our order and give it to her. We took our food back to the Airbnb and shared it with ~9 people. Three large pizzas were MORE than enough for our group; if we ordered again, we'd probably keep it to 2. We got one cheese, one pepperoni, and one veggie pizza so everyone would have something they liked. I usually prefer pepperoni pizza, but I really like pizza with light amounts of sauce, and after comparing the cheese vs the pepperoni, I opted for a slice of cheese as it looked less saucy. My opinion on it was...it was fine? The cheese was gooey/chewy, which I liked. Still a little too much sauce for my preference. The crust was probably the best part -- not gluey, with nice chewiness/crispness depending on the bite. It was pretty greasy overall though. Honestly, except for the crust, which was superior, I didn't find it too different from a Domino's cheese pizza. That being said, I'm hardly a pizza aficionado, lol. This place served its purpose and fed a bunch of hungry women looking to stay in for the night, so we appreciate it!

The shirt on the server at the counter should clue you in to our experience at an abridged version of VinnieVanGoGo's. As a resident of Orlando we love that we have theme parks that attract customers from around the world. We appreciate that they visit our community and spend their hard earned money, without them, Orlando wouldn't be the same. To add insult to injury, everything was cash only so I handed the server a 20 on a 10 dollar check and as she was getting my change she said "do you want me to give you some ones so you can tip me?" Yeah, she really said that. As for the pizza, we were told we had to go here because they have the best pizza in Savannah. What we were offered was a choice between cardboard and cardboard with pepperoni. I get it, they were cashing in on the big crowds but of your reputation is on the line maybe they should have some type of full service tent along with the quick service tent serving the pizza that inspired Tombstone. (I apologize in advance to Tombstone for the comparison.) We did not complain while we were there about the server or the food and needless to say we will never return. Such a let down after such hype.
