If you're a normal person, who likes really, really good food, and doesn't mind some slightly dated atmosphere, you need to come to this restaurant in Snowmass. My wife and I had the baked brie as a delicious appetizer, served with apples, honey, crackers and crustini bread (maybe more items), it was very delicious. My wife ordered the chicken pot pie, which is their specialty along with a few other pot pies, she loved it and finished it which is unheard of for my wife. I had the pot roast dinner, and let me tell you, I didn't eat lunch and I couldn't finish mine, but it was excellent as well. People were dining from the hotel casual dress and and from outside from other places all dressed up. They have private areas and larger tables areas as well as bar seating and a few high tops. The deck has fireplaces going and what looked like nice tables outside as well. Pictures below. No room for dessert. If you go here, I think that you will have a really great meal. The staff panicked, offered to call an ambulance, and shared an unrelated story about someone else getting sick, not helpful or reassuring. I ended up extremely ill and will be dealing with symptoms for weeks. My water and wine were also contaminated after I drank them after eating the gluten containing meal.
The restaurant was nearly empty, so this wasnāt about being busy, it was a lack of training and care. Iāve had Celiac for 15 years and dine out cautiously. This was by far the most careless handling of my condition Iāve experienced.
If your restaurant cannot safely accommodate gluten-free needs, just be honest. Thatās far better than putting someoneās...
