Absolutely loved to relax in this new lounge! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The variety of games offered and events was encouraging as well. Plenty of comfortable seating. The restrooms were gender-inclusive. Would gladly go back again!

7/12/25 - This is an absolute gem, especially if you’re looking for a welcoming, relaxed space to recharge during a day of shopping. We stopped in for a quick break and ended up staying longer than expected simply because the vibes were so great. It’s not a bar, but rather a cozy, inclusive hangout spot that feels like a mix between a local lounge, creative studio, and community hub. The owner was incredibly accommodating, greeting us warmly and making sure we felt right at home. You can tell this place was built with intention. It’s inviting to everyone, no matter your age, interests, or background. Whether you’re there to relax, socialize, or just explore, Matt’s Basement makes space for it all. One of our favorite parts was the variety of media displayed throughout the space; everything from books and art to music and games. It made the environment feel dynamic and personal, like you were hanging out in a friend’s basement with way cooler taste. It’s rare to find a spot like this; laid-back, creative, and genuinely kind-hearted. If you’re in Stillwater and need a break from the crowds or shops, do yourself a favor and stop in. We’re already looking forward to...

Came here because my family and I had came across it during our walk downtown. It looked cool enough. Very retro vibes which was nice with my wife and I both being 90's babies. Drinks were decent. I love showing support to smaller businesses. My only complaint is that when we went to go sit down in the lounge area, that it isn't clear what we can and can't touch. My daughter loves the piano and so when she saw the grand piano in the lounge, she asked us if she could play it. I didn't see any signs saying that we couldn't. The only visible sign stated something like "Please be respectful, no drinks on the piano" That's it. There was no sign saying that playing on the piano was off limits ?? We figured if you were allowed lounge and lay on the bean bags, couch..play games and board games that the piano would not be an issue. But an employee came over annoyed and told my wife to tell my daughter to get off the piano. My daughter was so embarrassed and scared. She's only 6 years old. She felt so bad that she cried like she did something terrible. This happened when I had stepped away to other room with my son. I almost went to talk to the staff but my wife told me to let it go. So, we tossed our drinks, left and never looked back. Just an...

Quant hideaway place. Large bean bags for people to use while gaming. Bathrooms are gender neutral, with or without urinal. No locks. Young lady opened the door while I was in there at the urinal, then she quickly left. Not too smart and potential law suit for sexual harassment. Do better please. The chai I ordered and the bubble tea for my daughter took over 20 minutes to get. Four other couples were waiting for drinks as well. One went up to check the status. Not good for the slow season in Stillwater. The chai ended up not being what I ordered. I got a chai boy bubble tea which was thin like water and low in flavor. My daughter noticed it was the wrong drink after the guy walked back to the kitchen. The other two workers were back there as well. (By the way, no one had a sense of urgency to get things done). I waited long enough and was done with the place. At least she got her drink, then two sips later was done with it because it was not agreeing with her palate. I found it to be too sweet. We tried it. I hope you have a good experience like the others on here...

This place simply rocks. The owners are totally adorable an super friendly. Prices are perfect, with quality to match. I'm completely in love with the entire business model an vibes they got going on. We have quickly made this into our weekly tradition. They have so many spots to relax and enjoy the views or even playing games. Speaking of games, awesome selection you two... awesome! They are always so eagar to help with tips or tricks in the games. You can definitely tell this is a passion for them. Something they don't just own, or just work at, but something that's part of their happiness. I truly enjoy how much matt knows about games an is totally willing to talk about any game any platform. Again this isn't just a Boba shop, or a hole in the wall, but an ingenious hidden gem. With them celebrating their 1 year just recently, I wish them many many more to come. I hope you two continue to be a special place in my heart as well as in the heart of stillwater. Please, come check this place out. It's going to become something you cherish, I promise!!!

omg i was so excited that there was a boba place downtown because the nearest boba place was like in woodbury. first things first, the interior is sooo amazing and also the history of the place they built into as well. it was quite hot and humid inside despite the fact it was 55-60° outside. never the less, love the overall place. but when i ordered brown sugar boba, it tasted so good but the boba pearls aren’t fresh. i’m a bobarista myself and the boba pearls werent chewy. the pearls were literally brittle, arent chewable, and the core was stiff in the middle. boba pearls are supposed to be firm-chewy but this is beyond that. the pearls taste like they’re 4-5 hrs left out. fresh boba must be served within 0-2hrs of cooking. i’m only nitpicking on the boba pearls part but dont let this review stop you from going because i’m sure you’ll still enjoy the rest of the beverages.
