Absolutely loved to relax in this new lounge! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The variety of games offered and events was encouraging as well. Plenty of comfortable seating. The restrooms were gender-inclusive. Would gladly go back again!
7/12/25 - This is an absolute gem, especially if you’re looking for a welcoming, relaxed space to recharge during a day of shopping. We stopped in for a quick break and ended up staying longer than expected simply because the vibes were so great. It’s not a bar, but rather a cozy, inclusive hangout spot that feels like a mix between a local lounge, creative studio, and community hub. The owner was incredibly accommodating, greeting us warmly and making sure we felt right at home. You can tell this place was built with intention. It’s inviting to everyone, no matter your age, interests, or background. Whether you’re there to relax, socialize, or just explore, Matt’s Basement makes space for it all. One of our favorite parts was the variety of media displayed throughout the space; everything from books and art to music and games. It made the environment feel dynamic and personal, like you were hanging out in a friend’s basement with way cooler taste. It’s rare to find a spot like this; laid-back, creative, and genuinely kind-hearted. If you’re in Stillwater and need a break from the crowds or shops, do yourself a favor and stop in. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreCame here because my family and I had came across it during our walk downtown. It looked cool enough. Very retro vibes which was nice with my wife and I both being 90's babies. Drinks were decent. I love showing support to smaller businesses. My only complaint is that when we went to go sit down in the lounge area, that it isn't clear what we can and can't touch. My daughter loves the piano and so when she saw the grand piano in the lounge, she asked us if she could play it. I didn't see any signs saying that we couldn't. The only visible sign stated something like "Please be respectful, no drinks on the piano" That's it. There was no sign saying that playing on the piano was off limits ?? We figured if you were allowed lounge and lay on the bean bags, couch..play games and board games that the piano would not be an issue. But an employee came over annoyed and told my wife to tell my daughter to get off the piano. My daughter was so embarrassed and scared. She's only 6 years old. She felt so bad that she cried like she did something terrible. This happened when I had stepped away to other room with my son. I almost went to talk to the staff but my wife told me to let it go. So, we tossed our drinks, left and never looked back. Just an...
Read moreQuant hideaway place. Large bean bags for people to use while gaming. Bathrooms are gender neutral, with or without urinal. No locks. Young lady opened the door while I was in there at the urinal, then she quickly left. Not too smart and potential law suit for sexual harassment. Do better please. The chai I ordered and the bubble tea for my daughter took over 20 minutes to get. Four other couples were waiting for drinks as well. One went up to check the status. Not good for the slow season in Stillwater. The chai ended up not being what I ordered. I got a chai boy bubble tea which was thin like water and low in flavor. My daughter noticed it was the wrong drink after the guy walked back to the kitchen. The other two workers were back there as well. (By the way, no one had a sense of urgency to get things done). I waited long enough and was done with the place. At least she got her drink, then two sips later was done with it because it was not agreeing with her palate. I found it to be too sweet. We tried it. I hope you have a good experience like the others on here...
